More states to follow Arizona's example
« on: July 08, 2010, 08:09:56 PM »

Hopefully more states will follow!

By Michael W. Savage

Attention is focused on Arizona and the federal government's challenge to the state's strict new immigration law, but three other states could adopt similar legislation next year.
This Story

Lawmakers in Oklahoma, South Carolina and Utah, which have already taken steps against illegal immigration, say that Arizona-style measures have a realistic chance of passing when their legislatures reconvene in 2011.

In 2007, Oklahoma led the way on such laws by adopting legislation that makes it a felony to knowingly transport or shelter an illegal immigrant. It also blocked illegal immigrants from obtaining driver's licenses and in-state tuition.

State Rep. Randy Terrill (R), who sponsored the measure, has expressed a desire to go beyond the Arizona law when he introduces a bill next year that would seize property from businesses that knowingly employ illegal immigrants.

Terrill cited the arrest last week of an alleged Mexican drug cartel member in Oklahoma as evidence that an "Arizona-plus" measure is needed urgently. He said the effect of Arizona's law has been to push illegal immigrants "straight down Interstate 40" toward Oklahoma.

I just spent a week in Oklahoma at a prison facility checkin out a job offer. The Native American gangs, and the Mexican Gangs are at war in the prisons, and in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Once again, I am rooting for the Indians, who hate the Mexicans.

Good for them. Too bad Texas and New Mexico can't find the backbone to join them.

  I'm with you there.

I've never understood this line of reasoning that some people think we shouldn't do anything because there are too many here to deport them all.  That just makes no sense and is contrary to plenty of other legal situations.   There are too many people speeding on the highways to stop them all, but we have unknown numbers of police officers out there stopping the ones they can.  There are too many petty thieves and drug dealers and users to stop them all, but the police do their best.  So we can't deport all the illegals.  Why not start with deporting the ones we can?  Why not give it a shot?  Can't deport ten million?  Maybe start with a goal of deporting a million.  I think that would be a good start and would let them know that coming to this country illegally may not work out so well.

The Arizona law is going to need to work it's way through the courts before many states are going to do anything.  They don't want to spend the money fighting the same fight Arizona is already in.

I did see a piece somewhere yesterday talking about the donations sent to Arizona for it's legal bills.  Seems people from all over the country are sending small donations to help.

I think the duk is dead on the money with the court case being filed by the feds. The money seems to be there for Arizona, so lets open the box and see what falls out. Worst case scenario is to trim the flaws from the present law and draft a vault proof law afterwards. Perhaps the sheep are tired of the Washington wolves, and have bought "predator rifles".

If all leo depts nation wide would start checking, arresting, then deporting these invaders those not caught would make a mass exodus South. Make it so uncomfortable for them they would NEVER want to come back here. I hope this attrocity of attacking the sovergn State of Arizona bites osama real hard. After the invaders are gone, defend the borders as if it were  an armed invasion. Seal our border and MEAN IT.  POWDERMAN.  :o :o :o :o :o :o

Fox news a few minutes ago announced that about $500,000.00 had been DONATED from citizens across the country for Arizona's legal fees, since the suit was filed by the feds, and the money was still coming in.

Put a $10 bounty om each illegal and the problem would be over in a week. No one is serious about illegals, and that includes AZ.

Baloney. If osama would quit tying their hands AZ would take care of business. The billions saved by deporting these invaders would easily pay for Az defense. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

In addition to going after illegals, I think it's also important to go after those companies that hire them.  Bill them for the deportation fees.

The companies that hire them should face severe punishment! Huge fines for each illegal they hire and jail time for the CEO! This would stop most of it.
This should go all the way down to anyone hireling them to cut your grass! If you are hiring them for any reason you are part of the problem and should go to jail!

According to the NYT over 3 million dollars in fines have been collected from employers where illegas were employed this year. Also says that thousands of illegals have been fired from those jobs. Some have been deported but no number was given. I suppose the rest have filed for unemployment and/or welfare.  ;D The source of the info was very proud that no handcuffs were used or families were broken up like was done under the bad ol' Bush administration.

I had some fella's stop by my house wanting work.  If I had not know a few words of Spanish, we might not have communicated.  I asked for their green card and instead got a Guatemalen cussin'.  They got escorted back across the sidewalk by an angry American with a pistol in his pocket.

I got their tag # and called the locals, and was told they could not touch them unless they committed a crime.

Isn't murder a felony?
Isn't kidnapping a felony?
Are these and many others not federal crimes?

Why do LEO's inforce these and can't the immigration laws.

Makes no sense to this old dumb Ga. boy.

Long live Arizona.  I'm gonna' buy an Arizona state flag to fly.

If they are so proud of their country, as they shove that so called pride down our throats daily, then why are they here? Simply deporting them is not the answer. Many have been deported many times and just turn around and come right back. Shutting down companies that hire them, fining anyone who gives them work, making multiple offenses of crossing the border illegally mandantary jail time and forcing Mexico to jail them, not us, might get the point accross. If Mexico doesn't cooperate to stop the flow then sanction the crap out of Mexico. Deny Americans from crossing the border for any reason. The money stops flowing Mexico will get the point real fast. Make anyone caught transporting drugs a capital offense! Hold Mexico responsible for any illegal commiting a crime on our soil. We need a no tolerance attitude and if our mamby pamby self aclaimed leader  ::) don't see things our way then demand he be impeached and put someone in office who has our well being at heart!

I also saw where Obama's justice department had fined companies $3,000,000 for hiring illegal workers. But if you look that is for 2900 companies! So the fine averages out to $1035.00 for each company! Oh yeah, really putting a hurt on those law breakers! BS!

When deporting them, make them pay for their own transport.  Oh, and fine them in the amount of whatever else they have on them.  If they can keep their money, it allows them to buy their way back in and profit from their crimes.
Aim small, miss small!!!
