Miroku Winchester 1892 tuning?
« on: July 08, 2010, 09:41:55 PM »
I just ordered a M/W 1892 in 32-20.  One of the Davidson Take Down models.

I'm looking for references and resources to tune up this rifle.  I'm Canadian and can't access American gunshops so will be doing it on my own.  I don't shoot CAS but chances are I will try it out now.

This rifle has the rebound hammer and tang safety.  Any problems popping up with high volume shooting?

Contact Steve Young, aka Nate Kiowa Jones. He's pretty much the recognized expert on '92s. He has a DVD that will walk you through working on your '92. Here's his website: http://www.stevesgunz.com/ . His contact info is on it.

He's a terrific guy to talk with, and I would highly recommend calling him or emailing him with your situation and any questions. He'll give you the straight skinny!
