« on: July 09, 2010, 12:20:03 PM »
Met a Canadian truck driver today, who wanted to know how long we had to deal with this heat....I told him about August when it would warm up a mite.  I also told him about the 4 seasons of Ga.

Here in Central Alabama we had a nice winter, about 20 minutes of spring and then this Africa heat. Last couple of days has been some of your "OH MY LORD !!!" stuff.

I have gone up for two work weekends at my camp outside of Waycross.    Last weekend and one month earlier in June.   the high temp in June was 101.   this past weekend was 100.    had to bushog and disc up 23 food plots.   I got so hot I stopped sweating then turned beet red.   One of the guys in the pickup following grabbed a cold water bottle and poured it over my head.   Brought me right back.  hope it is a bit cooler in August when I go back to plant.
I'm just tryin' to keep everything in balance, Woodrow. You do more work than you got to, so it's my obligation to do less. (Gus McCrae)

I've been out looking over where to plant already, but I haven't had the gumption to start.  I've been working 6 days in the heat lately, and when the day is done so am I.  (Not that I'm getting old.....well actually, yeah I'm getting old.)

I am thinking of damming the creek and making a swimming hole however......
