On-line and correspondence schools
« on: July 09, 2010, 04:36:04 PM »
Has anyone had experience with online or correspondence gunsmith schools. I can't find a school in Central Louisiana so I'm looking for a plan B. I can use vacation time for short courses some of the colleges offer. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

I did the North American Corresopndence course in '85 and it was well thought out and informative. It wont get me a job as a smith , but now I have documentation of my knowledge...

Check with the NRA as to the availability of gunsmith courses given at some colleges. I think they list some in the american rifleman. I have no knowledge of on-line or correspondence courses. Hope this helps. Frank

Well I've done my home work and come to the conclusion that the correspondence schools are a rip off. The information they provide can be found in book stores and my local library. Without hands on training I would be wasting my money
