Would it change anything if I did?

Do you truly only give a damn about things that you personally can change?

Nobody can change what happened 30 years ago.

Caring has nothing to do with changing what happened. There is a child molester at large with the apparent blessings of our so called legal system. No there is not one thing any of us can do about it legally, and the pile of human refuse is not worth the time.
But I still care I care that a child was violated by that scum and I care that our culture has degraded so far as to let him walk free as if it were no big deal.

The girl was a 13 year old drug using model/actress that consented. Honestly I never knew any 13 year olds like that. I did however know a heck of a lot of similar 15 year olds. Talked to some of them (all grown up and hypocritical parents now), and they say that a 13 year old girl is not exactly a child. It is not so simple as the guy being a child molester. He was, but ........

It doesn't matter what the girl was, said or did.  She was 13 years old, drugged and HE KNEW IT.

If he had to drug her, I would not call that consent.

Wreckhog I don't know how you view things but i feel in situations like this the aduld should well act like an adult and be responsible and do the right thing ! Someone under age giving consent is about as lame an excuse as one could come up with IMHO !

SHOOTALL. YEP, he was the adult and it was his responsibility to be the moral guide. At 13 she was hardly old enough or mature enough to make decisions like that. Even though I'd bet she was a druggie anyway he should have taken the high moral ground. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

Incredible ! I cannot feature any adult believing this way !
A 13 year old is a child, no matter what ! Perhaps the whole list of attendees to the "party" should be questioned as to whether they knew the child were being drugged or drunk...and what did they do about it ? If such were the case, every adult in attendance has a duty to protect the child...  Did the entire party consist of a bunch of scum ?
You speak as if an adult taking advantage of a 15 year old would not be very egregious..I would wager you don't have much company here !

Even if the child's parents were derelict in their care of the child...it is the DUTY of every adult to protect every child.
For the one who behaved toward this little girl..as a turkey buzzard; he deserves special punishment !

Yeah, incredible what people think, and what they chose to not take personal responsibility for. Unfortunately, these kind of statements give us a glimpse into the morality and thinking process of those posters. And its despicable. Truly shows the moral bankrupcy and lack of simple human compassion for children.

I don't believe he was thinking at all ! As far as being responsible he must have had little home training on the subject IMO .

No. That's called public outrage. Tea Party members calling Liberal agenda for what it is, immoral, and crimminal behavior for what it is, illegal.

Folks might want to read up on the UNCRC, which Obama supports, and how it will affect the age of consent ... might help to understand why a Swiss judge let him go. Socialist organizations in Europe are hoping to see a worldwide age of consent set at 12, in the name of civil rights of course. "Think of the children!" will result in more death in the next century than "God wills it!" ever did.

Public outrage is the foundation upon which our nation was founded, and we all enjoy its fruits today.

BS. Lowest age of consent in the US is in Mississippi. 12 is the magic number. Guess what? RED STATE!

I don't care if it is a red, green, blue or orange state. I would be willing to say Polanski or anyone else for that matter, might be in a "peck of trouble" if he got a 13 yr old drugged or drunk and raped her in Mississippi !
Perhaps some posters from Mississippi may add to what I said.
Just because some antiquated law has not been scrubbed from the books, does not mean somebody who preys upon little children can launch themselves unimpeded, upon an innocent child.
I still state unequivocably...IT IS THE DUTY OF EVERY ADULT...TO PROTECT EVERY CHILD...anything less is pure barbarism.

I would like to see the law in Mississippi that states the age of consent there is 12. I am in agreement that anyone who thinks that an adult male having sex with a 13 year old probably has a history of this in their household. My cousin works in the state hospital with sex offenders say that the pedophiles think that sex with children even forcebly is not wrong.

It would seem there are a lot more folks here upset than at her house. If it had been my daughter, or sister Mr. Polanski would have simply disappeared. Where are the daddies, and brothers, and uncles, and cousins that were around when I grew up? Justice came in many forms in those wonderful fifties and early 60s.

I called in the abuse of a neighbor lady's infant, by the neighbor's boyfriend to the police in St Petersburg, Florida, many years ago. I testified at his trial. Immediately afterwards, I was meekly told by the police, that this defendant/abuser was a "drug runner for the Mafia", and that the police could not guarrantee my or my young son's safety 24 hrs a day. I left everything I had, behind that night, and took my son, on a Greyhound bus out of Florida to my relatives in the Midwest. Been there done that. Would do it again.

As I stated before, my cousin who works with sex offenders in the state hospital said that the pedophiles think that sex with children is fine dandy and should be legal. Sounds like wishful thinking on the 12 year old line of bull.
