removeing rust

whats the best way to remove a few very small specs of rust? or just oil them good and leave them alone?

Extra fine steel wool, gun oil and a little elbow grease.  ;)

For light rust I use 0000 steel wool and WD40. It' one thing the WD40 works well at..

WD40 does a great job cleaning greasy, oily hands  ;D
