I would love to take cameras with me. I have seen reports of them getting chewed up by curious bears, I wouldn't handle them with anything that would transfer bait scent to them for sure.
Try and determine what type of bait is being used before you leave, and maybe have a bit of an alternative available. Say they are using sweets maybe a good meaty grease to make that bait stand out. I would be collecting bacon grease to kill two birds with one stone, smoke and meat. might try a small burn with a couple cans as stove and pot. I've used a cut out bigger can to hold a sterno and a tuna can as the pot to boil grease or honey. You get more smell from less volume that way.
Something I intend to use is crisco blended with strawberry Jello, using a stick to smear it into tree bark. A sweet berry scent, won't wash off or run, and takes time and effort at the bait to eat it up. My guide uses meat scraps primarily, with about a half cup of Sberry donut filling as a topping. Another favorite of mine is to mix vanilla and corn syrup with a bit of water into a spray bottle and I'll spray about 4oz. into the surrounding weeds and leaves, to get lots of scent into the air, I think the syrup sticks it better. I will also spray a few puddles onto rocks, or the top of the barrel.
I like a damned comfortable folding chair in the blind, less figgiting for me anyway. I find a headnet very useful in the skeeter dept. What drives me crazy is the in the ears up my nose crap. The skeeter has to land to realize I taste bad, by that time I'm crazy. The thermocell has been a godsend and I rarely mess with repellant, Bens, if I am going to use any and I just get the little dropper bottle.
