« on: July 14, 2010, 03:21:33 PM »
I have aquired a Taurus pt140 pro, its a .40 cal., either stainless or nikel upper with a composite (?) bottom half and has MILLENNIUM on the side of the barrel in big letters.

If any on ecan give me some info n what I have I'd appreciate it, it seem s to have a lotta take up in the trigger, is ther any way to adjust this ???
I've never been lost,,,just rite fearsome confused for a few months.

Taurus makes that gun in several calibers PT 111 ((MM), PT140 (40S&W) and PT 145 (45 acp).  I have the first and last of the three mentioned.  They all have long single action trigger pulls and there is nothing you can do about it as they also have a DA pull in case the gun fails to fire on the first try (This has happened a couple of times to me with reloads that did not have fully seated primers) This gun is also a shortened compact version of the Taurus 24/7 full sized pistols.  I like mine and they make a fine carry gun.

supposedly you can kind of milk the reset point on the trigger like a 1911, though not as crisply from what I remember of the 24/7 I owned.  if you follow through with your press then you're good, not if you just try to barely "touch if off" like on a benchrest rifle though.

Not really anything you can do about the trigger. They are great shooters though. After putting several boxes through mine, I like it more and more. Very reliable, great fishing gun.

If you can't abide by the trigger though send me the gun. I'll test fire it and send you monthly reports on how much I lke it.
P.S. send more ammo please. ;D
