Mauser 98 Stock
« on: July 15, 2010, 06:33:35 AM »
Looking for a Surplus M98 stock that I Can Play with a Little. I Have a M98 action with a 308 Israeli barrel (Got it checked out by the gunsmith). The stock that came with it is OK but I would like to play with another stock (Add Forend Cap ...). I really don't want to buy an after market one  ... TOO Much $$$. Anybody have a stock lying around they don't need ... $ $20-30(No Cracks but I intend to re-finish ). I really don't like to deal with e-bay because the people mostly use PayPal and they don't support gun ownership.

Thanks,
Keith S. Rex

Keith:  I'm not sure about the cost but you may wish to check with Numrich Arms/Gun Parts America for their prices on Mauser 98 stocks.  Hope this helps.

Take a look at Boyds stocks in their crazy deals for a sporter stock
http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/BOYDS-CrAzY-dEaLs-s/84.htm?searching=Y&sort=7&cat=84&show=10&page=1

OR visit Springfield Sporters site for a military stock, the list beech or walnut Israeli stocks.

Chuckle, if you order from Springfield, may have a problem getting them to answer phone.  Then you'll probably speak to someone who sounds young and does not inspire any confidence that he knows what he is doing.   LOL, but good place to deal with.  Have placed about 5 orders with them last couple of years, always got what I wanted and shipped to me in a timely manner.

I ordered some a slide for a MAB model D and a few other parts from Springfield Sporters and had a very good experience. They shipped fast and the slide was in great shape.
