I had a Buffalo Hunter many years back and my only real complaint was the skinny little ramrod which may have been necessary for a .32 but was way too wimpy for loading a patched ball in a .58 caliber. If you like the look of a sporterized musket you might want to consider a T/C New Englander which has kinda that look and can easily be modified to even more of that look if you wish. They can often be found in good shape for two hundred of less. They were only made in .50 and .54 caliber plus 12 gauge shotgun but that is plenty for a hunting rifle and more than plenty for target and plinking. My own .54 came with a rotten bore so I had Bobby Hoyt rebore it to .58 and it's way too much for target shooting but I have other rifles for that, so this one is reserved for elk only.
