I need stock advice

I've got two pistol setups and would like to get a buttstock and forearm that would allow me to start adding rifle (and black powder) barrels.  I want wood, and TC's stocks do nothing for me at all.  Not to mention that you've got $150 tied up in a factory piece of walnut.

I've seen lots of laminated stocks and fancier grade wood stocks out there in member's pictures.  Who makes nice and reasonably priced setup, and what do you like about it?

I'd like to stay around the $200 figure if possible - but could spend more if it was something exceptional.

Check out www.eabco.com They have laminated stocks at $79 for a butstock, and $36 for a forarm. Nice looking stuff from what I gave seen on there web site.

Here is another one. I like the look of his products, but dojn't care for a thumbhole stock on an action with a hammer. Kind of awkward if you ask me. Check out the photo gallery.

I have the EABCO's Laminated stock in pepper (grey) on my Stainless Encore.  Looks great. You cant go wrong with their products & prices.

Doc, the pricing certainly fits what I want to do.  Is the one you have gray and black, or does it lean to a 'green' color like ruger's lam stocks (if you've seen those)?  Have you seen the nutmeg in person?

If I am not mistaken EABCO sells Boyd's laminate stocks. If so I have the pepper laminate on a Remington 700 and am more than pleased with it.

Quad,I have a laminated stock set from E.A. Brown Co. It is made by Boyd. The quality is excellent. The pepper color looks great on my stainless Encore 209x50. The color has no green in it basically Black ,gray with a little tan in the backround. At least thats what I see. All in all I'm pleased with it, 110% better than the synthetic stock that came on it. The gun is much better balanced, quieter no more hollow stock, and the felt recoil was reduced, it adds a little more weight to the package but it put it where it was needed.

 One note: If you are ordering a forend for a 209x45 or 50 muzzleloader and don't have a factory stock now you will have to order the spring clip and screw that holds the ramrod tight in the forend. I don't think that will cost much judging by the piece itself. Give T/C a call. The forend is pre-drilled for the screw. The buttstock is held on by the factory  bolt you have now unless the pistol bolt is different than the rifle.

I have to order the other 2 forends for future use I'm sure I can't live with this as just a muzzleloader.

My opinion it looks better than the factory walnut stockset and is cheaper.  The synthetic stocks T/C sells are garbage don't go there.

If you want to see the color of them find a T/C Omega with a laminated stock I believe they are made by Boyd for T/C. Holding my Encore next to my brothers Omega colorwise they look real close.

Don't forget to check out The WoodSmith for their stocks as well.   Fred uses very nice wood and his carbine wood sets run from $135-$225 depending on the wood (utility to high grade).   Even his utility wood is miles above factory wood.

I have a boyd stock set in brown laminate that I bought straight from them over the 'net. The stock, ML forearm, and rifle forearm went like 125.00 or so. It is beautiful, fit great, in short, excellant products. Their website is easy to find with a search engine. I dont know the site address. I think a lot of websites and companies resell boyd stocks as their own, so go to the source and look at them to save some $$$ :D

Quadzillabil :D   The eabco stock is Grey-Black if you will send me your email address I forward photos of the stock.  There is no green in the wood.
