NEF .410
« on: July 16, 2010, 12:42:48 PM »
My brother in law has a NEF .410 that he wants to sell.  He says it is a 3" full choke and was made in maine.  Im interested in buying it but not sure what a good price would be.  I was thinking of offering $50 for it.  Were these ever made in maine?  Thought they were Gardner, mass. built.

You are correct.  MA = Mass.  ME. = Maine.  $50 would be a fair in-the-family price.  Otherwise maybe $75.

The serial number prefix letter(s) is the code for the year of manufacture, there's a list of codes in the FAQs and help sticky.

If I had that opportunity I'd buy it. Even if you don't want it yourself you could give it to a kid or sell/trade with the parts.
