crossbows finally legal in 2010 in nc

Finally the law that takes affect in 2010 will allow crossbows in bow season and can hunt on sundays.  Can't wait to get first deer with crossbow.  They did decrease bow season for one week but added a week to muzzleloading.

Yeah baby!!  It's about time... Was it the NC archery association that was pushing against this so much, bet they are hating it. Oh well. I do wonder why they shortened the season, more in the woods with crossbows legal maybe?  Guess that's why the archers were against it.

Yepo it was the NCBA that was fighting it off, they lost.

They put a lot of money at it and still think a crossbow is a gun, and should not be used for hunting.

Oh happy day!

I've never understood the no hunting on Sunday thing.  I've always suspected that to be one of the most powerful anti-hunting forces in our world today.

Actually since you can now hunt on Sundays with a bow the season wasn't really shortened...

It's ironic that the Bow Hunting Association would be against other hunters hunting how they want to instead of being dictated to...

We have plenty of does in NC and a good, long season...Maybe if bow hunters were killing more does instead of big buck hunting the laws wouldn't have been changed...

Of all the different type weapons used, bow hunters have profited as much as any with the increase in technology...They can still bow hunt during gun season...I don't agree with one telling another how they should enjoy their hobby...

The no Sunday thing has never bothered me...My dad wouldn't allow us to even shoot guns on Sunday...But then, I'm the type that will go hunting when I see fit, not wait on others to tell me when I should...
