Not sure if ruger is missing marketing or if they are looking at Engineering resources and production and putting them where they think they have the biggest bang for thier buck.
While it does not seem like a lot to us to change the barrel from 44 to 357, 327, or 5.7 ...... (the list goes on)
Having worked for a manufacturer I know it is the time documenting the parts and writting the specification for that part that holds back a lot of companies from making all kinds of stuff.
From an article I read a while back in Shooting Sportsman they were interviewing the CEO of Ruger and he hinted that there were a lot of new products headed out this and next year. I came away with the impression it was going to be more AR and Police oriented.
They asked about the Gold label and when they would get back to it and the answer was that there were a lot of projects ahead of it like the exciting AR and the pocket auto lines. Maybe he was trying to snow us and will show up at SHOT with a 77/327, a Gold Double rifle and the return of the Bisley single six guns and bring one out in 327. Who knows hopefully we are pleasantly suprised and they made exactly what you wanted.
