1841 Vs. 1861 Mortar

i just had a friend drop of a DOT 3AA2400 tanks.  i am wanting to build an 8 inch mortar. what is the difference in the 1841 and the 1861 siege mortar. im gonna get plans from Antique Ordnance Publishers, but i dont want to buy 2 sets of plans.  any information would be greatly appreciated.

As far a building goes 1844 has bottom trunnion later has barrel trunnion.

Civil War photo of an M1840/41 8-inch Siege Mortar. Shell 44 lbs., mortar approx. wt. 935 lbs., barrel length 22.5-inches.

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.
