I have been mulling this over for several months, and have talked to a bunch of electronic experts during that time. Almost to a person they told me to avoid the plasma units. The plasma tv's tend to develop "hot spots" in the screen and have "shadow" images after a while. What was recommended to me was the LED/LCD tv. These are ultra thin, run much cooler than regular LCDs, and last longer than either plasma or regular LCD tvs.
Therefore, I went out and bought a Samsung 40 LED/LCD yesterday. It has wireless internet capability, which allows us to watch Netflix movies from our instant play account. There are also USB and computer connections for watching slide shows, saved movies, etc. The image is crisp and sharp, and, basically, I highly recommend it.
