Powder for 38 and 44 special

Aside from trail boss, unique, bullseye and universal clays what kind of powder  would be good for standard
velocity rounds in the 38 and 44 special . Thinking maybe green or red dot. Any input on these two or any others
not mentioned above would be of interest.

I use Red Dot in the 44 spl with a 240 cast, either rn or wc.

It isn't obscure, I can't help but wonder why you don't follow the suggestions in your reloading manual.  You paid good money to get that info.  ??

Yep, good advice.
I never pay much attention to load data I see on line. Sometimes I'll check data from forums against a manual, but I don't ever remember using any load data from any forum, web site, "expert" or gun guru. Just the way I do it; I keep a manual (or three) open to see the data in PRINTED form.

+1 for wncchester.

I have used and like Winchester Super Field or Super Target.  I don't recall which one but I used recommended loads from the Olin/Winchester free handout. It burned really clean. The only thing I didn't like was it was so fine grained that it would work its way out of the Lee ProAuto Disk I use and I'd get a little powder collecting outside the unit.

I have used Red and Green dot in 38 with good results.

Titegroup has been very consistent for me in light revolver loads despite the low loading density.

purchased was the nosler fifth edition and it dosnt mention green dot, red dot or tightgroup for these rounds.
So I really appreatiate  your input. Also the input on ww231.

Go to the powder manufacturer's websites and look at the data they provide if your manuals are lacking. I think recently, with the many  new powders, Red and Green Dot for handguns aren't listed as often as times passed.
