:D Hi bear hunters.
The Pa bear hunt got underway on the 24th of Nov.We have a 3 day season here. Not a huge bear population at about 15,000 but a state where we grow big-uns.After 3 days the preliminary report has 10 bear over 600 lbs and 2 over 700 lbs.Lycoming county is tops so far with over 170 bear. The largest was killed near Weatherly,Pa.I have a couple of pics of bear that were taken at the check station on the first day. Will try to post them when my gf shows me how.Good luck and good huntin! :D

Sounds like a great hunt, if short. Mine was also short, but that was due to my own time constraints. Saw/got nothing. Lotsa sign at the deer camp, but saw nothing big and black there too.

Man, I'd love to have 700 pounders here.....I know we have a few, but all we ever see are the 50-400 lb kind....And my hounds love those....
Down with Maine Citizens for Fair Bear hunting!
----It will kill Maine's hunting economy....Is this really what we need?
----Plus, all you other Northeasterners, if it goes through here.......your more then likely NEXT

 There were 3 bear taken in the extended season that weighed over 800 lbs.The largest taken was 16 years old and weighed over 830 lbs.The total kill was only 5 less than last year, and about 85 less than the record kill in 2000.Word has it that there is a larger bear that hasn't bee nkilled yet and is supposed to be 22 years old now  He sure knows where to hide when the shooting starts!
