Why do some still fight closing our borders ?
« on: July 25, 2010, 08:40:13 AM »
why indeed ! Some folks obviously do not want our borders closed, but never really give a rational answer why we should welcome intruders (and I doubt there is such a thing).
No doubt we should close the borders as soon as possible. Just check this article out..and be sure to read the headlines below the picture:

  http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-10317-San-Diego-County-Political-Buzz-Examiner~y2010m7d24-Los-Zetas-drug-cartel-takes-control-2-US-ranches-in-Texas

This should be done this year, and could easily be accomplished if our leaders had enough guts or honesty to do the job ! IMO, anyone born in the U.S. who doesn't want the borders sealed RIGHT NOW, doesn't deserve the name "American" .
   The task would be relatively simple;

 1) Erect 2 woven wire fences, 300 yards apart.

 2) Place all manner of warning signs, even cartoons for the illiterate...as warning signs

 3) Build an extremely effective minefield between the 2 fences, wired so it gives any penetration location to the nearest patrol station.

The fences and minefields have worked very well everywhere they have  been tried, so why waste the manpower ? Unmanned drones can zap the Taliban in Afghanistan, why not the drug smugglers on or inside our borders ?
IMO, any politician who doesn't want the borders closed IMMEDIATELY, is either sold out to the enemy..or too deep into the drug business to let go !
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

I agree with you 100%.    Several factors don't want the border closed.  I environmental groups, they want the Jaguars, and other wild animals to have the ability to move freely back and forth across the border.  And while I agree with their reason, it's not good enough, the price of progress.  Then there is Mexico and their supporters, the Northern Mexico economy is based on the money sent back from the illigails that slip across the border.  Then there is the Drug Trade, they want to easily transport drugs into this country, the worlds biggesdt consumer of illigal drugs.  But Congressd is looking for the illegal vote to stay in power.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

I guess one reason out goverment would not want to do this is because it would work. If our wonderful politicos actually accomplished something, what would they run on?

Let's just move the border.
We can kick butt and remove all inhabitants from our southern border to the Panama canal.
It makes a great barrier and easy border to defend. Plus we then have all that new territory.
This will be one of my first acts when I become Dictator  ;D

Cause democrats see millions of voters and the powers to be are making tons of money. It's no more complicated than that.  Remeber the saying follow the money. That usually explains 99% of any issue.

The article has been shown to be bogus.
The story has been all over. The one that started this, might not be taken seriously next time.
Remember the story of the "Boy Who Cried Wolf" ? Pretty much fits this case.
I've been on the sidelines just observing.Trying to verify, before anything else is said.
One variation, puts the ranches 10 miles south of Laredo.10 miles south of Laredo,is in Mexico, several miles south of Nuevo Laredo. Was pointed out by a comment-that the ranches are North West of Laredo.
And someone that does live in the area, said nothing unusual is going on.
There's several websites on this.As this could not be kept quiet for very long.
The Los Zetas, some people don't want to understand something:they are trained by Special Forces.
And,it means,unconventional warfare ie;guerilla warfare-no rules in combat.
It would take Spec-Ops to take them out, along with the air support.
Los Zetas members are Mexican Army personnel, that went AWOL,from combatting the drug cartels,to joining them.Earlier this year,Los Zetas went into "business" for themselves.Yes, they also have dealings with MS-13.
These members do kidnappings, and murder.Plus they go along for protection of the drug running.
To go up against them is fool-hearty.They do not want any witnesses.
Just lookup "los zetas".You can then get an idea of who they are, what they do.

Yes SIR,that they will do for their country-bleed profusely, until naturally dead.
I like what a doctor said about a Florida shooting.SWAT shot the BG.
Paraphrased below;
The BG was hit 68 times.Coroner said "Died a natural death".Someone asked why a "natural death ?".
He said "Because of so many hits, naturally you're going to die."
Seems fitting for the Zetas. And the other cartels.

Regardless of the obstacles, people will still get through. The numbers will lower, but, people will still get through.   I agree with fences. However I would like to see them fortified with bullet proof (small arms) shields. These should be able to be built 12-14' in diameter in 8' sections that could be stacked to elevation needed and include living quarters with the top floor the observation tower. Placed 100 meters apart they could offer mutual fire support to each other. All provisions, water, food, propane could be choppered in on skids.
After the Korean conflict(?), the gooberment commenced "Operation Wetback". It is time for the sequel. The 30 billion spent on social sevices for illegals should more than cover the costs. Bring our troops home and put them on the borders. Heck, let me on the border. I'll provide my own arms and ammo. All I need is a get out of jail free card.

Terrorists will steal the mines. Mines kill an insane amount of citizens every year.

Not likely, wreckhog; just because the fences and mines are there doesn't mean the border is unguarded..armed aerial drones can patrol a long, narrow strip fairly easily...and satellite observation can show the drones or border patrol just where they are. A nice berm just inside the south fence makes a good backstop for machine guns. They can find terrorists with satellite observation even when whole villages/tribes are trying to hide them..
A 300 yard wide strip would be easy to run a search & destroy mission on. the terrorists can buy mines very cheaply from the Chinese, Russians & N.Koreans..plus, the ones inside the between fences zone would cost them to dearly.
BTW: Are you one of those guys who wants free access for the illegal fence jumpers ?

      45454;
   Don't know for sure if that article is bogus...doesn't matter. we know there is plenty of drugs, death, expense, inconvenience and misery caused by the ILLEGALS...certainly enough that they should be stopped.  This article isn't bogus;

Billions of dollars spent to build a fence.  Has that ever worked before anywhere?....
5 Things
1) they have not finnished the wall, where the wall is it is effective.
2) ask the people of East Germany if the wall, and boarder guards that were willing to shoot worked?
3) As long as people will make $ on the illegals they will not want to close the flow of people, no matter the misery.
4) there are others that want ot end the US and think this is a good way to redistribute our wealth.
5) there are better ways to make the illegals.... Legal.
A) register them. Finger prints, DNA, Have a workers permit.
B) tax them 10% flat tax federal - 5% state - 3% Social Sec.  (not alowed to collect) that can fund the Data base and the wall.
C) Do not aloow them ANY state or federal benefits.
D) They pay for school if the students get less than a C+
E) Have to have International driver license, register the vehicle in the state and carry insurance.

I have seen some pieces of this pie explained here. More pieces will include the taxes and social security mexicans pay to our coffers that will never be givven back to them. There is a bigger picture also. Regan pardoned millions, bush and mclame wanted amnesty. Slobama wants amnesty. In order to have a one world government all borders must be torn down. If our borders can be lost then the battle is closer to being won. We will be asimalated.

I know how it is on the border. One defunkt website,ranchrescue.com told of the misery and horrors of these illegals.I referred to it,as for our visit to Tombstone,AZ.It is scarey,none-the-less.
So,yes,I do know what is going on.
The guy that owned San Pedro Saddlery,on Fremont St in T'stone told me "If you are going on the back trails, load up.I'm serious.". I bought 5 lbs of American Pioneer Powder 2F,from him.
I did take my 45 Colt,45-70,and a couple other guns.
I know what I had was no match for an AK-47 or an AR-15/M-16.But at least,We felt safer than unarmed tourists.
Our last trip to Vail,Wickenburg and Tombstone,in May 2007,yes, I did take my guns and ammo.

Yes, the story is bogus.
I do know that part of Arizona is not bogus. Not happy that we conceeded a part of U.S. soil to those criminals.
Will tell you, that a firefight is coming soon.Have forum friends in Arizona.Do wish I could be there backing them up.
My Uncle said over 40 years ago, that Mexico will take over without firing a shot.

A LEO in the comments below the article say so.Look for Ranger1340.My comment is 45 Colt.
In other web pages, another one lives in the same area.He also said it's not true.
I kept a skeptical eye on the story.I wanted to make sure of what was going down before anything else.
If the story would be true, all "H" would break loose. And,yes,I would step up my reloading, and casting bullets.
In Modesto, MS-13 is here. With several other gangs.
2 of my former co-workers are naturalized citizens from Mexico. Both said "They should have to stand in line like we did.".For illegals, they are not happy.
I know,I was training them on the Atlas Pacific peach pitters, and re-pitters,as mechanics.
To give you an idea,I've worked in the cannery for nearly 25 years.I was seasonal belt sorter for years.
Worked my way up the mechanic ladder to full time employee.
When I got to work one night, was asked "Have you heard ?" "No.What happened ?" Story goes like this:
The (now former)employee signed up for the seasonal cannery job.Given picture ID,and the rest of what is used for the sorting belt.(Ear plugs, blue bump cap, plastic gloves, hairnet, and apron) Apparently worked for a few days. With first and second shifts, are paid on Friday.(Third shift is paid on Thursdays-10:00PM to 6:00AM.
So technically paid on Fridays)
Well, he decides to "skip work".Gives his ID to another one.Checks given out,as ID's are checked.
HMMM,we have a slight problem;face don't match the ID.BP gets called.Another illegal busted.The employee gets fired.
Been to TJ a couple times.Wasn't for pleasure. My cousin was taking laetril treatments at Clinica De La Cydel.
Our next door neighbors took us down there."Us= my Aunt and Uncle and I"
I can tell you,I didn't care for TJ.
Now,it's more dangerous than ever.

How long is the Mexican border? 1969 miles. The Canadian border is 3987 miles. The Alaska Canada is 1538 miles. That is a lot of fence. That is a lot of satellites. The ones up there are not sitting around doing nothing. That is a lot of people. That is a lot of training. Where does the money come from? You don't know what you are talking about. Korean has a 160 mile DMZ and it is still penetrated. What you really want to do is introduce Canadian Wolves there. In a few years they will have eaten all the animals, then they start on people.

Yes, you are correct.
One year,we came back from Tombstone.
Went to the plant to pick up my check.
I'll just say "The brown recluse",personnel manager was there.Told her about us visiting Tombstone.
She said,"Don't get me started on the Minutemen...". I didn't start anything.
Now,I would argue her over the Minutemen. She can't fire me,been retired since October 2006. ;D

As I said, mines are quite inexpensive on the weapons scale..plenty of places where they canm get them on the cheap..opld hugo chavez may give them to the terrorists. No need risking their lives for them...especially when the only ones they would be blowing up is ..THEMSELVES ! No virgin supply that way... :D ;D

I'd prefer a fence only about 100 yards on our side of the border. Mine it and put bars on our side of the fence so we could watch the show.
