Back several years ago I was given a cap that said "US Border Patrol" on it.  I did some work at a poultry plant with mostly latino workers.  I guess it was the devil that got in me and made me wear that cap that day, but there was an exodus out to the parking lot by so many the plant was about to shut down.  I was told by management to get my stuff and leave.  It was the most fun I had had in a long time.  Worth it.

The illegals are a crisis and the longer it last the more power - jobs and dependence on govt it brings

The ss numbers should be an instant check .

the borders should be closed and safe .

Shhotall, I know you seem to be a pro illegal alien person, but you are wrong...

Your half truths are getting to TM7 level.

From what I hear from a former Texas resident, a law like AZ's might significantly reduce the construction labor force, especially brick layers, grounds keepers / landscapers, as well as crop pickers. Will out of work Americans mow lawns, pick lettuce?

I fully support the AZ law but I do wonder at the wide spread impacts. Now if the "no longer looking" unemployed citizens would grab the new opportunities, it would be a good thing.  Somehow a big part of that group will need additional motivation to work for their living. Maybe that unemployment extension was a mistake?

If nothing else I'll betcha the crime rate goes way down. Were I an Arizona resident that sure wouldn't hurt my feelings any. Guys, there is no PERFECT answer. You have to take the bad with the good, and if the good out weighs the bad, then way to go Arizona!

"...if the good out weighs the bad" shouldn't even come into play.

We're talking right & wrong, legal & illegal here.

I personally know folks who are NOT looking for work and have been living on these extensions while doing cash work on the side, now osama has extended it again, more votes bought.
The word ILLEGAL says it all, why is that so hard for folks to understand? Like others have said, we need to severely punish employers who hire these criminals and make the invaders punishment so hard they will gladly stay on their side of the river. I'm not opposed to using armed force to stop these invaders, the sooner the better. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

I guess I'm the stupid one.  I was a finish carpenter until the work dried up.  I took a job cleaning carpets making $4/hr less than I was when I did carpentry work.  I should have just dove head first into the public trough and just sit home on my butt and wait for the checks to roll in.  Then I can go buy new pants that zip up the side because IMO you aren't much of a man if you don't work to help support your family.  Of course I allow some concessions for men who are unable to work due to a physical or mental handicap.  And drug addiction is not a valid handicap IMO.  If you are hooked on dope it's your own fault, why should the rest of us support you so you can continue destroying yourself?

I know folks who use illegals, and brag about the money they save.  My boss even hired one as a clean up guy once.  I asked him what should we do if the kid hurt himself badly working around the shop....take him to ER, or hit him with a shovel and bury him out back?  If you think you are getting a bargain mason at $8.50 an hour, remember he contributes nothing to the economy as a whole.  He does not buy expensive cars or appliances, he lowers the average wage for his competition, and he sucks up taxes because he uses but does not contribute to the economy.  When I was a boy, I knew a mason who encouraged me to become one.  When my dad made $1.35 an hour in the mill, he made $6.00 an hour laying brick.  Now a mason has to compete for jobs with that cheaper guy.  There is no free lunch....unless you are illegal.

Doesn't sound like sheriff Joe Arpaio is on hold, they haven't been able to stop him at all, and the feds have complained a lot the last couple of years about him.

Ben

Mechanic understands the big picture, why can't the rest of you illegal lovers see it?   Illegals don't do squat to help the economy.  They drive wages down for everyone. They don't spend much money here, they send the majority of what money they do make back home to their families.  They only spend money on necessities.  A dozen of them will get together and share the rent on a single house.  a hand full of them will pool their money and buy one used car or truck that they all share.  The only thing I have ever seen them spend much money on is cheap beer.

And you  know something,  I admire them for being willing to leave their home land and often times their families, sneak into a foreign land at the risk of arrest or worse.  Share housing and vehicles with a bunch of other people to conserve money. And do whatever jobs they are asked to do in most cases.  How many of us can honestly say they would be willing to do the same?  But that does not mean I think our country should continue to allow them to do it.

I agree with this exactly.  Too many of the more simple minds here think believe the illegals are inherently evil.  Most are not.  But for the grace of god any one of us could have been born in Mexico.  Remember, you don't get to pick your parents.  I don't blame them one bit for wanting to better their lives.  If I were in their shoes I'd want to come here too.

The problem is that our government and our businesses have turned a blind eye to their job.  It would not be difficult to solve this problem.  The second the penalties for hiring illegal workers outstrips the benefits the problem will solve itself.  Real fines, real publicity, and REAL ENFORCEMENT of labor laws will make all the other problems go away.

where do you get the idea they work for less that's BS with regard to trades . And by your own words they buy cars and trucks , houses , gas and food . These buying habits do increase the profits of the sellers , the trucking companies that the goods are shipped on etc.
Right or wrong the illegals are intergrated in our economy and have an impact good or bad. If 12 million people stop buying food it will be noticed . Most likely when prices rise to make up for lost sales  ;)

How much does 3 families of illegals buying one used truck or buying one house boost the economy?  They have not sold 3 trucks or three houses, they only sold one to three families of illegals!  If 12 million people stopped buying food maybe prices would drop because their would be less of a demand.  You don't sell more of something by raising the price of it.  Who was your economics teacher?

Let me tell you about my sister-in-laws experience with illegals.  A group of them, (3 families as far as we could tell) 6 adults and a gaggle of their children) bought the house next door to them.  In the summer the kids would be all over the neighborhood playing in other peoples yards.  They had no respect for other peoples property.   Three houses on the street, including my SIL's  shared one water well,  these same kids would turn the water hose on in their back yard an leave it running day and night and they ran the well dry then their parents refused to help pay for a new well to be dug.  All the houses in the neighborhood had their own septic systems.  The house full of illegals overtaxed their septic system all the time and it would bubble up and run over into my SIL back yard.  She and her husband wanted to sell their place and get out of there but nobody would even make an offer once they say what was going on next door.  It took them three years to sell the place at a loss to - you guessed it - another group of Mexican Illegals.

Oh yes, the USA will fall apart if we ship all the illegals home all right.... not.

Brett; these people can live off of our waste ~

A year or two ago, near here, in the area of Fayeteville, AR , a newspaper report told of several familes of illegals were living in a home in a very nice neighborhood.   It became a weekly ritual where they slaughtered goats in their driveway, and the neighbors threw a fit.   By the way, with all the illegals being hauled in up there -  the goat sales have been thriving.

Example:    While getting a beef processed at a local slaughter house recently, I watched illegals come in and fill trash bags full of scraps of meat, bones, and sinue at no cost.  Toss 'em in a van and off they went.   I asked one of the workers  " why the bones ? "...  He said they render (boil) the bones and use the marrow in making some of their dishes.   They don't waste anything.
Enjoy your rights to keep and bear arms.

BRETT. Good post. I've seen situations like your sister had. I used to work accross the river in Indiana. The mexs would come in the store every day, 8 - 10 at a time, and spread out stealing anything they could. Nancy was a homeless lady who came in daily too. Clothes tattered and worn but clean, she lived in her car. She was an older lady but nice looking, always well groomed. They always ogled her and made her nervous. She used to park her car in the walmart parking lot til they ran her off. She was forced to leave there and park elsewhere to sleep. She was drug out of her car, beaten something horrible and raped repeatedly by 8 illegals. YEP, doing the work that Americans won't do. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Once again this law is being held up by the filthy worthless parasites on freedom LAWYERS! The judge that ruled on this case and the parasitic lawyers that brought the lawsuit need to be tried, found guilty and summarily executed for treason.
99% of all Lawyers give the other 1% a bad name. What I find hilarious about this is they are such an arrogant bunch, that they all think they are in the 1%.

Sorry about you sister , seen that with white people . If they were violating laws or codes then they should have been reported . Most places have codes about how many can live in one house because of things like septic tanks . They also have laws about tresspasing in other folks yards .Also with regard to the well if they don't pay do hook them up .As far as enomics , had some good teachers , you ever heard of fixed cost ? like a store , lights and employees ? That does not change when 12 million stop buying and to cover those fixed cost either you lose profit or raise cost . Trust me its noticed , maybe you didn't get what ya paid for in your class.

I truly think you will see just the opposite.   When supply is in excess due to overproduction or decreased consumption, market prices go down to encourage more buying.

I'm sure thats a lot closer to the truth. Seems like every time osama opens his mouth the total gets less. And like was said, less consumption means lower prices, not more. POWDERMAN.  8) 8)

where do you get the idea they work for less that's BS with regard to trades .
I truly think you will see just the opposite.   When supply is in excess due to overproduction or decreased consumption, market prices go down to encourage more buying.

So you think you can meet fixed cost by selling less at a lower price ? If so then it would seem that the 12 or 35 million illegals are really really helping the economy while being here . I mean if they are selling more and getting way more than its worth now .

OH GEE, you are a democrat ! sorry ! one of the spend your way out of debt guys.
