I concur with all the above. I just got one this spring. To me the advantages are shooting a 50 or 55 grain bullet if you want. You don't get the velocity but you can do it accurately to a 150 yds. When you get tired of it or have mastered all you can out of it, have it rechambered. I am keeping the open sites on it this year, next year plan to add high see through rings and a scope, you have a different gun. I plan to buy an extra barrel to have it rechambered to .221 Fireball. The K Hornet or .219 Bee is not enough improvement for the cost involved, might as well get 500 more fps for the same amount of money but then theres the brass and you double your investment. Wish it came in a bull barrel but their standard barrel is quasi bull.
I have always wanted a K-Hornet, don't need just want one.
Just like the hornet I have no plains to hot rod it, but 3000pfs would be
nice out of a K
I have had a Hornet of some kind for over 25 years.
The Brno Hornet I have shoots well under 1 inch at 100yds. I started using Lil'Gun about 5 years
ago in Hornet and my 221 Fireball. I use the 40gr V-max in 22 Hornet, 221, 222 and 223.
I use Lee Neck collet dies for Hornet, 223 and 17 Rem. Lee Neck Collet is some of the best money I ever spent.
No lube needed and cuts way down on neck stretching, More neck stretching happens when sizing
than when case is fired (expander ball) I know it sounds like ad for Lee, I just really like these
Neck collet dies. I did a little test for myself when I first got a 223 set. I have a range at my house.
I loaded 10, 223 cases then fired them in a AR I did this 8 times with same 10 pieces of brass (8 really as I lost 2)
These 8 pieces of brass had grown about .003 in lenght after firing 10 times each. Also never had any problems
with rounds chambering and all this loading was done with out any lube. It is rare that I have to trim any cases
I load using the Neck Collet dies and thats a very big plus for me and lube mess!
Sorry for going off in left field
Thanks,
TT
