I am looking for a .22 cowboy action revolver for my father for Christmas - He currently has a Uberti .357 cattleman and I would like something in a similar style - I would like something with a 4 3/4" barrel - and around $200 - $300 range - Can anyone give me some direction - Maybe even reccomend a reputable dealer - Thanks

You are hunting a tough one there, amigo.
There are a few Uberti 22's about but they are about 3/4 size of the Cattleman. In the past, there may have been a few full size 22's.

Just wanted to throw an update in here.
In a recent visit to a local gun store, I found a Stoeger import Uberti. It was a 3/4 (Stallion/Jr.) size in 22. It was brand spanking new, so look for them, they are out there.

I recently found a Uberti full-size .22 L.R. with 4 5/8" barrel, color case-hardening, firing pin in hammer, and the Colt type first notch loading. Note that is a bit heavier that a larger caliber (due to the .22 holes in the cylinder), but I really like it. You would probably be happier with the 3/4 size, due to the extra weight, but until I fire it, everyone thinks that mine is a .45 Colt

Just noticed in an EAA add in "Guns of the old west" their "Bounty Hunter six shooter can be had in 22/22mag, and is full sized.

You won't go wrong with the Ruger Single Six. I have several and they have been good to me over the years. They will be on the $300 side.

Dumbest thing I ever did was trade a Ruger Bearcat and about $400 to a friend for a Ruger #1 rifle in 220 swift about 25 years ago. I don't have the rifle any more either, but I was always fond of that Bearcat, even if I only had it for a year or so. I had a really nice rig for it too, a single holstered buscadero rig from someplace in Oregon.
I am about over trading guns any more, because when I do I always miss what I traded off, so I will just have to get a bigger safe is all. :shock:
