So my buddy who has a very sweet camera came over...we got lots of HD video in high frame-rates of bullets and recoil and such.  I figured you guys would like to see some 45-120 recoil! 

This camera is fast enough to catch a subsonic 45-70 load with several frames before it even goes twenty yards.  That's a benchmark of its speed.  Now the following pictures are five consecutive frames, that's how fast the recoil happens!  The last 45-120 pic is the maximum muzzle rise.  Then I included a picture of a 12 gauge at maximum recoil for comparison.

















What is that?!?!   :P

Tyler, I've got an extra .45-70 barrel coming that I was gonna turn into a 120.  Now I think I'll just get a Daisey Red Ryder instead. ;D ;D

your recoil tolerance is remarkable and astonishing i cant bring my self to shoot factory loaded 300 grain HP from win.  ;D

Can you post a 12ga. c/w a hard buttplate (Pardner?)pic under recoil to have a better comparison? That fancy 12 is too different from the '120.

I'm sorry I don't have such a shotgun.  :-\

The 45-120 does have a thicker recoil pad than the shotgun though, plus a recoil reducer in the stock.

Oh....I didnt see that!, OK......though an H&R SG with recoil pad (because of the stock architecture and OA weight) might still be a better visual comparison, what you have shown is pretty dramatic. Should drop the Cape Buf', I should think.
