Here is how the loading for my 22-250 is going.

Well here are a few pictures of some targets I shot yesterday and today. These are my new home made targets. I got tired of spending money for them so I drew some up and bought some 1 inch stickers on them. I get these 1 inch stickers (120 count) and 2 inch stickers ( 60 count ) for like $3.99. I use the 2 inch stickers for 200 yard shooting and the 1 inch stickers for 100 yard shooting. It is much cheaper doing it this way seeing as I have been doing a lot of shooting as of late. First off it would seem my rifle loves any bullet that weighs 55 grains. Here are a couple pictures of the targets shot at 100 yards today. These were the Nosler 55 grain Spitzer boat tail bullets. I have found that with this weight of bullet that the sweet spot is around 35.7 grains of Varget. That is another thing. It would seem that my rifles favorite powder is Varget. In this case the sweet spot seems to be 35.9 grains of Varget. I may load some at 35.8 grains to see if they shoot any better but I think this is pretty good and can live with it for sure at 35.9 grains. So here are the pictures of the Nosler bullet targets.






Next I tried some Varmint Nightmare 55 grain bullets. I shot them yesterday and they shot so well I ordered 500 of them today. You can't beat them for $44.00 for 500 of them from Midsouth Shooting Supply. For these bullets it would seem the sweet spot is 35.7 grains of Varget. Then again I may load some at 35.8 grains to see if they shoot any tighter. Here are the pictures.





So what would you do? Would you load some of each at 35.8 grains of Varget and see if they do any better or would you leave well enough alone? Both seem to be shooting under 1/2" as of now at 100 yards. Take care Dale

If you shot from top to bottom, left to right, on the Noslers, it looks like 35.9 is right but the barrel just heated up.

I would shoot 3 of those VNEs with 35.8's, each thiry minutes apart to make sure you had a cold barrel each time, and see what the group looks like. If the cold barrel shot goes where you thinks its going, you won't need but one.

BTW - Those VNE's with Varget in my Ruger 1-v shoot tighter and lower as the barrel gets warm after about 5-6 shots, only I can't wait that long. Next for me is the Nos 50 SBT with H380....and moly-coated 40 HPs

Yes that is how I shot the Nosler bullets and I had to stop and wait for the barrel to cool before I finished the last group of the 35.9. It really drifted off when it got hot. Dale

For comparison purposes, your best nosler 55 spitzer boat tail group looks about like my best sierra gk 55  spitzer boat tail (not plastic tip), and your best vne is about like my best vne, but I was using H380, not Varget. Varget is not as tight or as fast in my gun.

also, tomorrow I will e-mail you a target with 6 yellow circles you can print off on an inkjet.
I can see it great at 100 on 12x and higher.

The Nosler bullets I am using have a orange plastic tip. Dale

Yeah; Noslers are orange, Hornaday are red, Sierra are green. I meant my game kings don't have a plastic tip, they have a lead tip; that's the one I will use during deer season.

Hey--you can surf the internet and find all sorts of targets to just print off----print them on colored paper for use at different yardage.  Your targets work pretty well too though, I have done that myself at times. Just can't always find the dots with glue on the back to stick on the paper for a reasonable price.
