What's the biggest thing you have ever shot and killed with an air gun? What make and caliber?

crosman 2200mag, 4x15mm scope,22.cal hard crosman pointed pellets and it was a racoon. other things with that guns too(beaver nutra ect) but it was in the water so could not get the body but was very dead.

most time it racoons with my 766 or 760 .177cal airguns at 10-15 yards.

I have an old Crosman 66. How does it compare to the 760or 766? My father in law used it to kill squirrels and rabbits in his grarde and startling at his bird feeder.

I killed a German Shepherd once with a Benjamin when I was a kid. It was not intentional, as I thought it would just burn him and he would get OUT of the garbage can. I missed and hit him just below the ear as he was moving when I shot. I won't use anything bigger than a red ryder now unless I plan to kill......

When I was a kid I played with dad's old Crosman in 22 cal (model 101 I think)
I shot a 130 horse John Deere tractor with it by mistake...... I think you can guess how it ended

the 66 has Rifled steel Barrel and the 760 does not. there about the same in FPS i think (66 is 680 ft/sec , 760 is 625 ft/sec and the 766 gets 700 fps) I would use my 760 to kill squirrels and rabbits at short range(10-15 yards). I killed a racoon (kind of big one) at 12 yards or 15 with my 766 with a head shot so they have the power if you can make the shot.

I know of people that have kill with one shot ducks, ground hogs and other game like that so the power is there if you use head shots.

I tried a head shot on a 'possum, but missed. He had a den under my hay. I clean missed him @ about 6 ft. I half expected to find him dead under the hay, but caught him in a live trap the next day. no injury.

I've bagged couple of whitetail does with big bore airguns. Works well enough if the range is reasonable.

Yep, the and "killed" part messed me up too.
I shot a boy for chasing my cat with a stick once.
Just stung him good.
I don't think he ever knew what "Bit him" on the butt.
But it sure was funny watching him run away with a handful
of his own A$$.

I have taken 2 coons, one jack rabbit and countless crows with my gamo hunter in .177 All were head shots around twenty yards give or take on the big critters. The crows 50-60 yards.

Feral cats,
range - 10 to 30 yards
Rifle - Beeman Sportsman RS-2
Pellet - Beeman Kodiak (21.1 grain round nose)
caliber - .22
velocity - 750 fps

Crows
same rifle, same ranges, RWS super dome pellets (14.3 grain), velocity - 818 fps

Squirrels
Same rifle, with .177 barrel, Gamo round nose hunters, velocity 957 fps (average)

1 spruce grouse with a Red Rider (lucky head shot!), 2-3 Spruce grouse with R7 .177, 6-8 spruce grouse with a BSA Spitfire .22.

I "shot" a very nice bull elk once with a Beeman R9 .20 cal. Killed though would have to be anyone of the numerous feral cats or jack rabbits with a .22 cal RWS M54 using CPs, Lamprey Vortex's or Crow magnums.

i use a crossman 760 for the last warning that a dog gets. i shot a dog for chasing chicken in my back yard it turned out to be the neighbors the b.b. was dug out and the warning take with a grain of salt. the next time the peice of lead gets bigger like 20 ga.

I dropped/killed/cooked & ate a pretty decent sized cock ring-necked Pheasant with a .20 (5mm) Sheridan pump - but at this remove, I disremember how many pumps I had in it.

I was lucky, the pell hitting/entering the chest cavity, just under the upraised wing.

The friend that was with me STILL talks about it.

I shot a 12 in Philco/ Ford black and white TV with my Crosman 760 when i was 12. It died a quick painless death. My butt did not after my Dad found out ouch!!!!!

On a camping trip back in the early 60's I shot my scout master in the butt with a Daisy Red Rider. He was chasing the scouts truck in his skivies in the middle of the night by moonlight when it popped out of gear and rolled out of camp. Nobody got their butt kicked up around their shoulders (this time)... all of the scouts had BB gun's, so he didn't bother to ask who. Instead he told the story around scout campfires for years, and laughed about it. Miss all the great times with Hoppy. He did anything for us anytime and anyplace we wanted to go.

I got a 15+ pound snapping turtle with a 5MM Sheridan when I was about 13 years old. My older brother and I ate some of it but were not too impressed by the taste.
