  While I agree with much of what you say, I must quibble just a bit with your first and last sentences..
  
  The last sentence must be hyperbole..turning much of the mideast into glass..

  The first sentence; while I will admit they do believe in "a god", I strongly protest that it is not the same God as HE of the Christians and Jews.  Here I will digress into my opinion; but one shared by many Biblical scholars;
     A)  Islam declares that "God has no Son", which of course means there is no way their Allah can possibly be one and the same as the Christian God.
       B) While most Jews have not reconciled themselves to Jesus as the expected Messiah, they do not argue the preminence of the God of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac ...as do Christians. Incidently, a full million of the Jews have now recognized Jesus as the Messiah.
  
     So where does that put the god of Islam? (IMO)
A) " How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
   For thou hast said in thine heart,...'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will sit upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I WILL BE LIKE THE MOST HIGH".

  It was actually an old story..a young american gal, rather plain and feeling desperate meets 5 muslim brothers who run a local mini-mart.
