Thanks for the kind feedback.
Like all our pieces, this has it's own story. It was bought several years back with a different barrel. I never before saw anything like this for sale.
IT WAS WAY COOL.
I read somewhere that cast barrels with liners where VERY strong. Great I thought till I found that a magnet wouldn't stick to the casting. Scraping some paint away, I found the cast portion of the barrel was possibly aluminum or more accurately "un-knoweum". Hmmm...maybe this is a better living room cannon then a shooter. The 29" barrel weight was only 38 lbs and has DS stamped on the muzzle? Never lit a fuse in it and it guarded the living room quietly for years. Then I had the good fortune to stumble on this site and learned more. Worked to get something together for the Floyd shoot but the barrel arrived just a little late. Can't take any credit for building the carriage. Just that I didn't screw it up when I had to narrow it and enlarge the trunion pockets. A really nice fellow that goes by the name of Little Seacoast just sent me 50 1.5" Fox balls and now I need to get up with Dom for implements. One day you guys are going to see a picture of it in the front bucket of the prime mover heading out back to shoot over the pond. The prime mover is my RV that looks like a backhoe.
