I confess I'm guilty.....
. I have painted a few blued guns......where I now reside we get about 200 inches of rainfall and that combined with the saltwater spray makes a painted gun very practical. The right paint lasts a lot longer than a blued gun.
Stainless, you say. Well all stainless is not created equal. I had a stainless synthetic weatherby rust overnight in a tent. And it wasn't even in the puddles of water on the tent floor. I set it on a box under my cot the driest place I could find. Of course I did ride all day in the rain on a wheeler with it. Wiped it off and stuck it under my cot for the night. In the morning rust was starting on several spots.
The guns I've painted with black epoxy spray paint hold up better than that.
if you don't like a product just admit a preference but don't make it sound like the henry will fall apart because it has plastic sights. Lord knows I tried to break my glock but never could.
