I got out of the marine corps in mid 07 and after a few months getting settled (moving out of mom's house and getting a job and such taken care of in a crappy economy) I started reading up on all the election stuff and the man (obama) sounded so enlightened and so benevolent!  he really wanted to take care of us all, to foster good will across the globe... and his methods of doing so were all laid out in his book "the audacity of hope" but I didn't understand the terms like "progressive", "third way", "community" and such.  Once I DID research the partisan divide, socialism, fascism, corporatism, pragmaticism, zionism, islamicism, statism... it DID make sense.  I understood that his intentions were to make the world a better place by not only FORCING america into socialism but by being the one world leader to actually make socialism work, instead of regressing the entire region into a fuedal system headed by a bureaucratic monarchy of sorts.  what an idiot!  to boot he plays identity politics non-stop and is anti-gun and almost as consistent a liar as joe biden.

Oldshooter, what Obama intends to do, and is doing should be a secret, to only the most weak of mind. The question is, will Americans do anything about it. The Republican party is in a shambles, and is itself riddled with hypocrisy, corruption, and selfish, self promoting power mongers. America is going to have to wean itself off this whole bunch of "goodfellas", and have the courage to step out on their own, and do something foreign to their herd mentality. They are going to have to become "their 1776 forefathers". I don't think they have the courage, but I'm watching and waiting to see. My own mind has long since been made up.

Politicians when elected, believe they are elected to rule over us, and dictate, instead of be a public servant. Corruption is running rampant through both parties. All they do is find new avenues to tax us, so to gain more control over our lives. Their next priority when elected is to figure out how to get elected again.
I do not blame those that get elected. They are what they are. They are the same person before they are elected as after. They are what America voted for. You did not have to be a genius to know what kind of person Obama and others are before you go to vote. So this tells me these are the kind of people that America wants to govern. They have the character of what America is. They are representative of what America has become. Our elected are what the masses want. They want government to control everything. So don't blame the elected, blame yourself or your neighbor that voted for what we have.
 
Dee is correct. For there to be much change at all, American voters will have to become their 1776 forefathers. I do not see this America even coming close to that. How can hearts ever be changed when God has been tossed out of America, and the truth of our history being rewritten. The majority of the voters don't have a clue what our forefathers were, and stood for, and this knowledge gets more diluted with each passing generation.

Well, that confirms it; I've been suspicious of several of my neighbors for quite a while.  I'd bet that they did vote for BHO and the Dumycrats that this state sends to D.C.  And there's a new one that just moved in across the street that I'm nearly positive, voted for the bamster.

At least when the revolution breaks out, I won't have to go far to find targets.

Fact is that Dee and DDZ are correct. Obama made it clear during the campaign what he stood for and where he wanted the country to go. his speeches, his interviews as a senator, all the things he was taught and believed were there for the world to see and under stand but they(being those that voted and suported him saw and heard what they wanted). It is a undeniable truth that you get the government that you want, and elect at least in this country for now. That may change but "we" have chosen what we wanted and we are seeing it come to fruition. God help us all!
