Kids Archery Booth
« on: August 08, 2010, 05:47:50 PM »
I'm proud to be a part of the Lone Star Bowhunters Association, even prouder of being able to help with the **FREE** Kids Archery Booth at the Hunters Extravaganza in Houston, TX.  When most everything costs an arm and a leg at this show, we did it all for free, but did accept donations.  We pretty much had kids shooting the whole time the show was open, Friday 3-9PM, Saturday 9AM-7PM and Sunday 10AM-5PM.  I am very tired, but let me tell you it is a good tired.   I'm adding a short video from Friday evening of a few kids shooting.  I have over 32gig of video to sort through and get edited.   I'll have some more clips later if y'all are interested.

Hey, that's terrific!  Good for you for taking care of the kids that way.

I wish they did this at the Rocky Mountain Sportsman's Show, but the one Pro Shop that did it...... ALL self interest to sell product ie his bows.  I shall not name the Pro Shop, but we seperated our association with them.

I would much rather see a booth at our where, just bows from various makers NOT Pro Shops, where displayed with Traditional Bows included just to get them to shoot.  The Montana Bowhunters Association or The Traditional Bowhunters of Montana would be good to have.

The LSBA has been doing this for many years at this show and also some other events.  All the bows we have are easy for kids to shoot, with some that even 4-5 year olds can handle.  We aren't there to sell anything, but we do have some of the LSBA shirts and such that can be bought as well as information about LSBA membership.  We did get a number of new members signing up at the show.
