squash, pumpkin, cucumbers
« on: August 11, 2010, 01:03:15 PM »
I have planted some every year for some time, but outside of cucumbers, this is the first year in a long time the squash and pumpkins have done well from the get-go.
Often my volunteers would do better than those planted but this year with little to no fertilizing, they simply came and went to town.
Now I cannot give credit to the hot humid weather as they were doing well before that, (actually the hot humid weather has mostly created vines and not more fruit) do any of you have formula that bring fruit and not just a lot of vines.

I doused everything with Serenade to control diseases but they were doing well before I did that also.

On a unrelated, or maybe not, note, my roses have done extremely well this year also will little attention from me.

Never heard of squashes making all vine but no fruit, but when tomatoes do that they say it is because they have been over fertilized, mostly with N.
