What manufacturer/model would u recommend? Im thinking about just getting a rem mod 700... cant go wrong there i figure, and if i go with the 700 which one would u recommend...(which one of the editions i guess i could say, ex. varmint hunter etc

Well, that was pretty vague..lol.  It all depends on what you want it for, every rifle has a purpose.  Are you going to be hunting with it? What type of game?  Are you target shooting only? etc, etc, etc.

I like savages myself, but remmy's are nice too.  Or even a stevens 200.  Again, different rifles different purposes.

If you wqnt good rifles and not spend the dough, the Savage Edge and Marlin XL7, MOA and better, great hunting rifles, more money Savage, Ruger and Tikka..........

I have a lot of rifles including a custom built Jad in 260 Rem. that shoots like no other gun I have ever seen. But, when it comes down to carryiing ONE gun, it's my Rem.700. It is a 270 ALL black synthetic and it is the one I have the most confidence in. The weather will not effect it the way it would a woden stock. There is no glare in the bright light. It doesnt get the looks in camp the way some of my fancy guns do, but it has never let me down. I have the factory trigger set to 3.5 lbs. with no thak up or creep.
I haven't shot the Savage or some of the other gun previously mentioned, but I like your choice. What cal. are you thinking and what scope.

BTW I forgot, there is a little shine on it........The gold ring on my Leupold scope. ;D
