Bought two savage combo's

Like a dummy I sold my savage model 24 .22/.410 a few years back. Well today I walk into a pawn shop & they have two on the rack. I could not decide what one to buy, so he gave me a deal if I bought both. The are both in 98% cond. I gave $850 for the pair.

#1- 24J-dl .22/.410

#2- late model 30-30/20ga with black plastic stock

I plan on going to the range next friday if my Midway order comes in. I purchased some scope mounts & see-thru rings.

Yes, I have some .410 slugs I going to try.

Well the 30-30/20ga shot 1" groups @ 50yds. Should be good enough for a brush gun. The 100yd range was crowded, so try @ 100yds next time. I was shooting Hornady Lever 160gr factory ammo. Going to hand load some 150gn bullets when I get some dies.

The .22/.410 shot great. Sighted in dead on @ 25yds. ended up with a 10 shot group about the size of a nickle.
