Straitjacketed Rifles Article
« on: August 13, 2010, 03:36:48 AM »
A relatively new company located in South Carolina is written up in Shotgun News in the latest issue (8/23/2010) which is using new technology for accurizing rifles.  The STRAITJACKET RIFLE BARREL SYSTEM is a composite bull barrel that contemporary arms editor Dave Fortier tested for a week on several different platforms at his home in Kansas.  This is a follow-up article for one that appeared in Rifle Shooter magazine in July, and shows a lot of promise for this new system.

Most of us shoot 100 yards with reasonable results, and Fortier has a 600 yard range just outside his back door.  He tested the rifles in his article at different ranges and showed remarkable results with them all.

He tested and posted results for a No.4 MkI Lee Enfield, a Savage Model 10, the ever-popular AR, and my favorite... Mosin Nagant.

It's a lengthy article, and goes into a lot of detail about the testing, which (by all observations) solves a lot of problems with centerfire rifle shooting.
