Mosin Nagant Muzzle Brake
« on: August 13, 2010, 06:45:07 AM »
Just would like some Information or experiences with the Srew-on type of Muzzle Brakes for the M44 Mosin Nagant. I know NcStar sells one but wanted to get some opinions before I make a choice.

Do you need a muzzle brake, it doesn't kick that hard to me.  My Marlin 45-70 kicks way harder.

I haven't found any rifle that kicks like my 12ga??  Lean into it and hold it down.

Not sure what you mean by screw on muzzle brake. But don't get those cheap ons held in place by an Allen wrench screw. Guy I know had one last about 2 rounds, and it left his barrel at a high rate of speed, and took his front sight with it. The only ones that are worth it are the ones where you actually tap the barrel. Get the screw on woosie pads, they are cheaper and do not permanently alter the gun.

My NEF 12ga left a dinner plate sized bruise on my shoulder the first time I took it out. Compared to that, the Mosin is a lightweight.
