Protein and dandelions. 2.7 grams of protein per 100 grams. Not exactly loaded, but does exist in the plant, and better than hunger.

I almost never take anything seriously, or respond to a post that way, or state an adverse opinion, so maybe the moderator and my friends here on GBO will forgive this one transgression.  But of all the nations in this world I would not pick that one to idolize.

Hey Atlaw, I guess you were there about 40 years ago huh? Anyway, I thought dandelions had lots of protein. I know my meat chickens eat them up in a hurry. Anyone else have any knowledge on what a guy could eat if the economy collapsed? I know nightcrawlers but just can't see me eating one.

Grasshoppers, deadwood grubs of varying insects, fish, soy beans and most legume's have protein, nut meats including acorn and such.  8) Basically, there are many sources, but many will walk right by them.  ;)

I am not idolizing the Vietnamese at all.  Just saying that they understand (1) survival; (2) how not to starve to death (3) work ethic.
