old redfield 4x needs repair and info
« on: August 14, 2010, 02:01:40 AM »
bought this scope on an old savage bolt gun made back in the early 50's from the original owner. it
has been mounted since new. the only info on the scope is... redfield 4x... and on the other
side it has a    08.

anyone know anything about this scope and where can i send it to have it repaired ?

the objective is blurred beyond use.  i'm wanting to restore the gun package back to its original
condition.

any info will be greatly appreciated.
thank you  ;D

I have heard good things about "Parsons scope repair".  Don't know for shure, but I think he is in Ohio.  He specializes in old scope repairs / restorations.

So it looks like they pretty much specialize in the old long tube target scopes with mount windage and elevation.  I didn't know he was so specific in what he repaired.  To bad, because there is a lot of old hunting glass out there that is desirable and period correct for classic old rifles.
