Lam or wood stock for Stevens 200?
« on: August 16, 2010, 02:57:40 AM »
Own a .308Win Stevens 200. I believe it is the newer model that Savage/Steven made some changes to magazine. Is there ANY laminated or solid wood stock that will fit this rifle? Thanks in advance.

I should also add that the wood/lam stock MUST be pillar bedded just like the factory tupperware stock.

Yes, replacement stocks are available.  Your Stevens 200 in 308 is a short action, so same as a Savage 10.  Not sure about the pillar bedding.   Here is Boyd Gunstock info on SavageStevens

I have a Bell & Carlson Tacticle / Varmet for the 3rd generation Stevens 200 that I am very pleased with.  It is composet with an aluminum

bedding block.  All you have to do is set the barreled action in & the action screws are @ torque a 1/4 turn after bottoming ! "sweet"

I also have a Boyds "Ross" Thumbhole that fits me great that I got from Stockeys, but the pillars have to be installed after you get the

stock.  Stockeys & other supliers can provide the pilars & they are not hard to install. good luck - Jim
