Well, Bog I was wondering does your 330 castor set work on Fall Beaver?  I can see why it does in the Spring Trapping but just wondering about fall trapping.

Dave,I actually started using this set on fall beaver. It will work any time of year. All you need is open water and beaver. In fall I like to be more on sign,as beaver arent traveling as much.In spring I will set them even when sign is not present.
I expect you to be in the front row at the FTA/Michigan convention in june.
LOL--that is the beauty part of this set,you dictate to the beaver--where you are going to catch them--not the other way around. If you have any open water now ,you should be slamming them with this set.

Thanks Tom,

I did mange to catch a beaver this morning.  Although I did not have it bait or set up the way you do, it was just a place where they were leaving the water to chew.

And I will be in the Front row.  You Beaver trappers make me very confused.  I just can't believe and animal would go for fencing to guide it into a trap.  It just doesn't go good in my Canine Mind.

And I don't live in the polar ice caps like you so water is still open and flowing like crazy.  Very high river water.  Had 8 inches of rain and 2-4 inches of snow in the month of Nov.  Well I hope the ice fishing and beaver trapping are going good in your neck of the woods.

Hey Dave , congrats on the beav . Another thing that I do is save the castors from the beavers and when setting a new location , use that castor . I believe it also works as a territorial marker and will oust the interest of others year round .  When using slide wires on drowners I have found disposable stakes work very well in the rivers with rocky bottoms .

I just read an interesting tip the other day also ......

When setting a castor mound , wire the stick with your lure on it to the trap . That way when you catch one and it drags the stick down the wire with tyhe trap and another beaver wont come smell the lure and not be interested next time .
If an animal activist is being mauled by a bear should we stop it , or , " let nature take its course?"

Well my beaver hot spot just got pulled.  Someone thought they would like a beaver more then I did, that really makes my blood pressure HIGH.  All I can say is I had another beaver because another 330 not 25 ft away not touched.  Man it is something about people and traps.

Well Tom I will have to get a few but I will have to cash a fur check first.

Also I changed up and added castor to the sets and I got another, but the story played out above.

Well I hope you guys are having better luck then I am with stolen traps.  Thief is real high for me this year.
