I have read a number of articles written by some western writers on hunting jackrabbits, cottontails and hare without dogs. I would also refer to the late Mr. Bob Milek of Thermopolis , Wyoming who was an avid handgun hunter. I read some old articles he penned concerning the hunting of tehse creatures with various handguns. It seems that he was quite good at it.
It seems that in the East it is just too brushy to spot and stalk the members of the lepus family. Unless there is some sort of trick that I am unaware of.
Any one care to offer advice on this matter concerning the pursuit of rabbits/hare with handguns in New England?
