too stupid to learn
« on: August 18, 2010, 06:09:24 PM »
Washington state primary results are in, Everyone who made the ballot is a professional politician owned by the party. some independents and people who listed no party preference managed to get a handful of votes but once again if you want to vote you'll have to hold your nose because all the choices stink. Sorry guys i really had hoped that the sheep would smarten up but it looks pretty grim.

what scares me the most is the possibility that the majority in america is made up of those
receiving a handout and those who feel they deserve it.  Once we're past that point it's downhill
all the way to the crapper.  Wise men have long forecasted that this is the way all democracies will
end.  It's much easier to vote that pull your own weight.

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Nothing you can say to an obama supporter will sway them. Speak to people with sense and a work ethic. Get them to vote!!

An ancient Greek noted that the life span of a democracy is 250 years because that is the length of time it takes the people to realize that the poorer majority can vote to take money from the rich to support them.

That said, there's another quote that I've often seen out and about: "Democracy is a terrible way to run a country, but we've yet to find any better way to do it.".

Communism certainly isn't going to work.  A dictatorship might keep the country running but if you care a bit about the well being of the individual person as opposed to the big picture then it's a no-no.

Monarchy?  Not going to work long term.

In a way, democracy works well into a cyclical pattern.  It's a great way to run a system where everyone is on equal social and financial footing.  It combined with a capitalist economic model though is one of the easiest systems for that social and economic footing to become imbalanced.  Just as an example, the top 5% of the USA's population has more money than the remaining 95% combined.  Now, right or wrong, that is a system that won't stand forever.  As they say - in a crisis the guy with the guns won't be the one to starve or thirst.  When such a small percentage of the population has so much of the resources of the economy, the masses will eventually not stand for it.  Democracy reaches it's breaking point.

The system will eventually topple.  HOWEVER, from the rubbles emerges a group that is primed and ready to be run democratically once again.  The resources have been plundered, distributed, and balanced out, and the jealously factor is gone.

Not saying I necessarily think this is RIGHT - just the way I see it playing out, whether we like it or not.

I have lived east of Vancouver,WA for 20+ years now, coming from the Seattle/ Everett area. Didn't take long to figure out how the puget sound area controls the rest of the state. I kinda hate to say it but, I sure would like to see a lefty population reduction event happen.

WHEW!!
I was afraid when I saw the title to this thread that it was about me!   :-\

I get my definition of stupid from Proverbs 12:1.
"Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof is stupid."

Stupid people refuse to learn. A mentally handicapped person can't help it. But truely stupid people have the ability to learn but reject knowledge and truth. They refuse correction. That to me is a worse condition than the handicapped person. I see alot of that going around today. I suppose mostly because of pride, ideology and the resulting delusional state that progressives seem to be in.
Now my head hurts, I'm going to take a nap!    ::)

Well at least my biggest fear about our primary election (Washington's) didn't happen.  At least not in my district.  The stupid system we have now, selects the two candidates who get the most votes in the primary as the candidates for the general election.  In some cases there were multiple Republican and independents and two Dumocrats.  There was the possibility that the two Dumocrats would actually get the most votes because the real opposition was spread among too many.  In other words, we might have had a choice between two Dumocrats in the general.

However, some of the results were very close between the liberals and the less liberal, or conservative candidates.  The Dumocrats have figured out how to win the close ones.  It seems they are able to find an extra bag of votes to swing it their way any time there is a close one.  So the way it's shaping up, there's going to be some real tight ones in November.

Much of the problem is as saddlebum noted. A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. For instance this country isn't a democracy. It's a REPUBLIC! Democracy is nothing more than organized mob rule, and that is the problem here. For the good of the people (in this case the minorities) which takes away from the successful, and gives to the slothful. i.e. DEMOCRACY! Farmers, Unions, and others, are all on the GOVERNMENT DOLE. They WILL NOT, change, so everyone needs to get over it, and accept it, or vote the gift getting, gift giving bums out, or accept your future fate, as a third world SUBJECT TO THE CROWN.
With the economy in the shape it's in, and getting worse, DEMORACY will not only rear it's ugly head, but will climb completely out of it's box, in the form of REPUBLICAN & DEMOCRAT. Folks are losing their jobs, their houses, that they could pay for in the first place. THEIR SATALITE TV, and the batteries for their remote need replacing, but no money for batteries. DEMOCRACY WILL LOOK PRETTY GOOD to them, as it will promise to replace all, just like when Roosevelt was thought to be saviour, but found to be the Devil instead when it came to the economy.

I think the same could be said of some of President Obama's detractors & critics; that's what ideology and my team politics will do.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

demicans/republicrats, both are keeping american citizens in the "servile taxpayer" category. Both are for bigger gooberment. Both are corrupt. Both are selling out the USA to afix their station in life. Both are more than willing to trade tit for tat with their "sponsers". Both are working in concert to ensure our nations ruin.

Apathy is part of the problem. The average person on the street is not aware of the current political environment and are easily swayed by media hype. Some will even complain about the BS they have to go through to get their benefits and if you ask them, as I have, NO they are not registered to vote and don't have the time to do so. Heavens !! They may miss their favorite TV program and most don't watch the news anyway unless its about sex, bad accidents or garbage TV.
Maybe you are right. I guess that does make them stupid. Now you know why I live in the woods. haha.

I've noticed that when things don't go well under a Dumocrat run government, those who voted for the bums say that both parties are the same.  Both parties are not the same--at least not in every way.

In general, Dumocrats tax and spend and spend and tax and spend some more.  Republicans can spend too, but aren't that quick to tax.  Dumocrats will use the courts to get what they know is not attainable through normal law-making.  Republicans are supposed to be conservative and believe in the Constitution.  Dumocrats are not constrained by either of those notions.

If you think that the two strong party system has foibles, then you're really not going to be happy with a multitude of parties where none represents what might pass for the majority, or a reasonable portion there of.

Both parties commit troops to be the worlds policemen.
Both parties refuse to adequetly protect the borders.
Both parties steal from America, and give to other countries/people.
Both parties support/pass bills as long as their pork or interests is attached to it.
Both parties are in concert with each other to bankrupt this nation.
Both parties represent those who put them in office, not We the People.
Both parties try their best to circumvent the Constitution.
Even some of the people who do not vote for the bums of either party say they are the same. The voting for the lesser of two evils, or the one who is least likely to screw up is still getting an evil screw up in office. It is one party in power. The corrupt attorney party. IMO of course.

The problem is quite simple, the solution FAR from simple.

There is a rich cabal of folks who are so super rich and control so much that views opposite from theirs cannot be presented to the general public and even if they were presented would not be believed by most.

What they have done is really quite ingenius when you think of it. They own the vast majority of all forms of news media where folks go for their information. For whatever reason most folks actually believe what the media feeds them. They are so rich that no one can win without their support and darn few can even get on the ballot without their support.

They long ago realized that most folks are lazy bums who have no inclination to work and support their own selves so will vote for anyone who will promise them that they don't have to work that the "government" will take care of them. I guess that would not be so bad IF the government actually had any money of its own or an outside source of income that doesn't depend on the working population of our country. But it doesn't so it takes from those who do work to give to those lazy SOBs who just keep voting in the folks who will give them a free ride and there are now so many of them (soon to be millions more) that no one who will do otherwise stands a snowball's chance in hell of winning.

They also give to themselves while they are at it both the politicians and the super rich. Those in the cabal pay little to nothing in taxes yet reap huge benefits from government spending policies such as all the bail outs and defense contacts. They own all the major industry in addition to the news media and don't let me forget they also own the politicians.

None of them are American in the truest sense of the word. They could care less what happens to the US only what happens to them personally. They all know the days of this country are numbered and the count down is on so they are grabbing all they can before abandoning ship.

The really sad thing and this is what causes me to basically agree with the premise of the OP is that those idiots voting them in because of the free handouts will be the first ones dumped on the street when things collapse.

Those of us who actually earn income and have things not gifted by the government for the votes cast will be a little better off for awhile at least. Once their welfare is cut off those folks have nothing to support them and no where to turn to get it except to riot in mass and try to take from those who do have something. Now those rich and super rich will mostly be immune to it as they have their "palace guards" to protect them from the riots and no doubt have really safe retreats set up already so they are above what will happen to the rest of us when it all collapses.

We're not gonna change one single thing in November because there will be no candidates on the ballot with any interest in changing the basic nature of how things work. Politicians are not that concerned about being voted out really as so long as they are elected once they get paid for life anyway whether they are still in office or not. That's why they could care less what their "constiutents" think of them and how they vote. Vote them out? Big deal they just keep on drawing the same salary as when they were congressmen or senators.

There is a small difference between the parties but neither is really for us the small folks or for the US as a country not really. Now some few of the folks in Congress do basically try to do what's right at least much if not most of the time but those folks are few and far between and have no real power to change the way it is even if they were so inclined.

Our senators and most of our congressmen from Alabama are voting the way I'd want them to vote on perhaps 80% to 90% of the issues at least. I don't think we'd do better by kicking them out and replacing them and likely would in fact do worse. How many states can say that tho about their congressional delegation? They aren't perfect in their votes in representing my views of how things should be but I'd not bet anyone else would come closer than me if I were there. They really aren't bad at doing what's right on votes. They are not however as proactive in trying to turn things around as I'd like but in reality no one in congress is gonna turn anything around as the vast majority of them are in the pockets of the cabal and are not gonna buck them.

You can't vote for either party and expect things to get better. The best you can hope for is things might move in the wrong direction a little slower. Yeah Dan the old "lesser of two evils" idea. Sadly I don't see a viable option at the polls. Voting is not gonna turn this mess around. Nothing short of a full blown revolution will do that and I have my doubts even that would/could work. Why?

There is no organization to lead such a revolution and if someone or some group tried to get organized the government would be all over them like a chicken on a June bug. They have infiltrated most every group out there who might even remotely be capable of pulling off such a feat and they know what's going on within them. Yes they have even infiltrated here and at every other such site as this so no you couldn't organize via the internet either.

They have such advanced technology they can see into buildings and hear all that goes on inside them. They can read a paper over your shoulder from satellites. Our government has the technology to stop about any threat to them they wish to stop. I have no doubt they can control the final count from the polls if the real count doesn't go their way and we'd never even know it was done. If they wanted to stop terrorism they could and if they wanted to stop drugs or illegals flooding our country they could.

They simply don't want to as the REAL terrorists are the folks in DC running this country. They are getting their cut from the illegal drugs flowing so freely and they have plans to give those illegals the vote to further solidify their position at the polls.

Quite frankly I see no way out until we hit bottom and sink there for a few generations. Only then will enough folks be fed up enough to stand and fight to the death as our founding fathers did to make things right again. I don't believe any of us alive today will see the day when the needed revolution takes place and when it does a very large percentage of those revolting will die for the cause. Of course I figure by the time that happens the population of earth will have dropped by something like 75% to 80% less than it now is and they'll have their one world government like in the science fiction movies run by large conglomerates not by elected government reps. I'm just glad I'm an old fart and don't have that many more years to have to watch it grow worse. I feel for those younger folks who will have to live thru what is coming.

The only hope I see is for Christ to return and fix this mess. I don't think we can do it.

Excellent post GB. Not too cheery, but I think it's probably true. I do have hope though. I have under-estimated God's grace in the past, but America is getting more reprobate every day......We'll see.

Cant say you are wrong GB. The one thing I have decided is, that I will fight it all the way.
I would bet not 20 people out of all the members on this site have written a whore in congress, walked for a candidate, knocked on a door, called anyone, interviewed a candidate, became a member of a group fighting with all their might, or even know who they will be voting for this election.
If every able man and woman would get off their butts and just do something. You would see change like you cannot imagine.
I have set in interviews with most of the local and federal level candidates and know who I will vote for. Those from school boards to congress.
I walked with signs for those that are worthy and good. Was called Friday and asked to meet with a political action group and appear in a commercial for them. Prior engagement prevented that so they asked if I could do one later.
I am preparing to go to washington this weekend. I have 6 that will go with me. Long drive up and long drive back. I am trying, please help if you can.
No fool in congress or washington can stop you. Not one.
