How could you possibly get that from that story? The story is about political contributions, not political affiliation, in the military. If only one person in the whole military gave $1 to a democrat, would that make the military 100% democrat? Besides that, the story is three years old. What percentage are giving money to the democrats today after the fine job Obama has done ? What percentage have any money left to give?

Hell Shaggy sounds like a plan to me. If we could get the other 60% of the Democrats in the Army and let our good soldiers out, maybe we could start a war in China and send the whole damn bunch to China. When that's done, maybe we could get the Republicans to join up and go help the Democrats in China.

Voter registrations are not divided between military and not military, so a hard number is not available. However, exit polls shows that among those who were ever in the military, 54% voted for McCain. Military Veterans of All Ages Tend to Be More Republican.

For the entire adult population, 34% of veterans and those currently on active military service are Republican, compared to 26% of those who are not veterans, while 29% of veterans identify themselves as Democrats, compared to 38% of those who are not veterans. (Thirty-three percent of veterans are independents, compared to 29% of non veterans.)

I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the article but seems to make sense.

I think that what the person does in the military makes a difference.  I'm pretty sure infantry have a taste of personal responsibility.. I'm not so sure about the people that join up and do paperwork and other such tasks.  I'm not trying to flame anyone here that wasn't a grunt, just saying that there is a difference between a warrior and some regular joe that's in the military.  I cannot imagine a legitimate combat veteran getting out and deciding he'd give up his guns and trust government/va/obamacare with his health... or letting persons get a free ride due to some minority greivance while he had to bleed for 2nd rate benefits.  The people who never deploy and enjoy running around in the uniform talking big might want more benefits from big brother though.

I contend 90% in the military dont know what they are. They are fresh out of high school or college with liberal teachers that have influenced them toward hate and perversion.
After they have the opportunity to try and survive under the ignorance of the left, they become right leaning.
If you poll them when they get out of the service almost 100% will be conservative.
The only exception will the minorities.
The guessed at percentages used in this rant are mine but are more accurate than anyone else's guessed at percentages.
