Hi everyone. I just bought a Regent 8 shot 22 revolver, made by firearms internation corp. Wa. DC. 6 inch barrel serial no.r46278. Can anyone give me any information on it, and date of manufacturing ? It has fixed sights and locks up priety tight, i was just wondering accuracy wise, are they good plinkers ? Thanks everyone.

  Do a search on Regent Fire arms. That tells you a little about them. Nothing on accuracy though that i could find.

Bob thanks, ive looked it up, doesnt look like theres alot of info out there on them. I did see a few postings where some peaple had them new, boy i guess mines an oldie.

Going from memory only (not a good thing at my age), the Regent was somewhat of an unlicensed copy of the High Standard Sentinel brought in from either Germany by Firearms Internantional.. Pretty sure it was a Hermann Weihrauch “Arminius, Model HW-3.  After the closing of FI, I believe that they were brought in by various importers for a number of years.

Those I handled appeared to be solid enough pieces, better than the majority of cheapies, but not heirloom quality.  Absolutely could not be dryfired since the firing pin struck the cylinder inflicting damage.  

Keep in mind that I could also be wrong.

Buddy of mine had one - he bought it new back around 1968.  Fun gun to shoot and seemed to be well made for the price range.

Blackhawk44 is absolutely right on not dry firing them!  My buddy did just that and damaged the cylinder, resulting in a lot of FTF's.
