I remember when I introduced my son to this activity.
Good time.

Don't laugh! I've seen the devastation the FMG's can wreak upon the local population. The devastation after a local gang fight is plain to see.

Every once in a while, when I have a supply of fruit gone bad, we'll take it up in the woods, and use it for target practice.  Went back this morning to set up some regular targets, and found all the melons gone, with bear tracks all over in the mud.  Usually we set them up at 25 yards, and practice "clearing the berm of bad guys" from the holster, sort of like the old bowling pin shoots.  These guys were terminated at close range for the camera.

I always felt a melon was a good example of why you don't point guns at anything you don't want to shoot.
I told my kids and grandkids both that this is what happens when it fires.
Kind of sent a strong message along.

oil drain pans turn into airbourne maraccas if you blast them with enough birdshot.  really guys, try the eggs at ten yds with a .22lr pistol, goo flies like in the movie series "tremors".

anyone else shoot up gi-joe/action figures.  head shots at 10yds or so out on little gi joes is tough.

That sort of thing would make you loose your firearms permit and possibly land you in the slammer in this place.
Actually I agree with that hmm, must be getting soft. :o

I guess you live out in the sticks :D No offense meant,
I do as well, however my neighbor, unseen from my property and not anywhere near in any danger would call the law on me.

Mine would come over and join the fun . Is it illegal to shoot where you live ? Where i live its not . On any sat or sun we hear shots from all directions . Some auto fire at times. Some days its funny as one will open up followed by others . Its like one guy shoots and another runs into the house to get his gun.
Several years back i was taking classes that involved night fire so i decided to try it at home . I had shot several times when the wife comes out and said a couple neighbors had called to see if i got the guy. At the time we had a peeping tom comming around.

1) I is good to live out in the country.

2) My neighbors are all shooters also.

3) No threats are being made.  I would simply be showing the young man the cool thinks a hollow point pistol round or 12ga slug does to a melon is all.  No laws against that as far as I know. Besides, I'm friends with the local Sheriff. He, his wife and two teen daughters attend the same church as I do.  If a boy's parents called him to complain about my little demonstration he would probably just chuckle.

4) If you find this scary or offensive you are probably a liberal and all your children must be boys.

It depends. The hunting regulations as far as where and when you may shoot are in effect 12 months. Meaning that even  at home I cannot shoot within 400 meters of another dwelling.

I am more then this distance away I still would probably have a visit from the RCMP who would want to see my "Range" That would involve backstops, warning signs and other stuff which I don't have.

I do have another neighbor further away with 100 acres of land. He is a shooter himself and there is no problem on his place.

I had a cop for a next door neighbor when I lived in New Jersey.  One Saturday morning I notice them packing up the car and asked if they were going on vacation?  His reply was "Yep, will be gone all week.  If you see anyone prowling around my house shoot em."   I told him no problem as long as he could make the legal mess go away when he got home.
