Cheaper than an XS Power Rod...
« on: December 03, 2003, 10:39:58 AM »
Guys,

I was intending to purchase an XS power rod to make loading my Encore a little easier, a little pricey but I figured the T-handle would be worth it.  I noticed though that Bass Pro, in the muzzleloader/loading section, offers a T/C attachment to their ramrods that does the same thing but at less cost.   I ordered one.  You might want to check it out.

I use the short starter in the picture for all my loading work. After I start the bullet with it I insert the end of my standard aluminum Omega or Encore rod in the hole drilled on the flat surface and push down to seat the bullet. The round ball fits my hand well and I get a lot of force with out hurting my hand and I get a nice smooth seating job. Try it you'll never thread a T handle on a rod to seat a bullet again. Rich

I've had one. The little wire that holds the handle on to the screw in part fell apart from hard use. I only paid $3.00 on clearance though. The Powerrods are far superior and durable. What length is required for the Encore? I know it's a 26" barrel but with the break action the rod is shorter. If it's 24" you can use 24" powerrod for it. Midsouth has the best prices on 22", 24", and 26" powerrods (sold under Knight name). Plus they charge shipping by weight and not cost.
