Yellowtail3, any ideas for how the unlawful imigration problem should be handled?

A few. Perhaps... have some kind of workers pass, for those who want to work here/send money home, but don't really want to be citizens. A streamlined process for getting such a permit. And a mechanism by which those already here illegally could register to get said permit, with penalties for not doing so. Something like that. And some way for those who are here - and have been here a while, have family here? - to become citizens, without having to go back to orig country and start from scratch. That's off the top of my head.

I'm not convinced that cutting off immigration is all that good an idea... and besides, I like Mexicans. Many are decent and good people, much less offensive than some of the cretins here.

Why would they get a permit to come here and work? so they could pay the fines? or maybe so they could give up their moneys to taxes?

Really find that hard to swallow!

As far as the drug cartells gunning down there own people, It was reported that the Mexican Government was finally hunting down the drug cartells and cleaning them up. Maybe it is a case of drug cartells getting even with the government.

The reason to get the permit would be... because if the border gets closed/harder to cross, it'll make sense to do so. There will still be need for Mexican labor in some quarters. And there's a good argument that immigration - legal, if we can manage that? - is a net plus to the economy of our country.

Lot of peeps - some of them, babbling idiots & racists - think that no Mexican labor coming in is a 100% good thing. I've heard that a lot of farmers feel different, but what the heck do they know, being directly engaged in the issue, and not internet tough guys?

Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

Mighty decent of you to throw that in, well sort of.   ::)   Personally, I value the rule of law and our sovereignty just a tad more than you do, apparently.

Mighty white of you to say so, Casull. You might value rule of law more than I - I'm pretty well disgusted with our so-called justice system, and hold a very low opinion of the State - but more likely you misunderstand me. I think we ought to have control of our own borders, and I think the look-the-other-way method of dealing with illegal immigration is hypocritical BS, and the problem ought to be worked on.

...but I'm not in favor of shooting migrants, illegal or otherwise (except for the scoundrels who deserve it)

Sometimes a conservative, is a liberal who got mugged; other times,
A liberal is a conservative who got arrested.

Glad to hear you say that, in contrast to your prior posts that were seemingly in favor of the "migrants".

Neither am I, but I'm not in favor of calling illegals "migrants" or "immigrants" or otherwise trying to apologize for them.  At this point, I would be in favor of closing off all immigration (legal or otherwise) and sealing our borders, at least till we make things better here.  With unemployment at 10% or better, and state and local governments now running deficits like there's no tomorrow, we can't afford the "cheap labor" any longer.

Close the borders ! Stop unemployment hand outs . Then check the numbers . Then decide if we need help. ;)
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
