Rodman in your front yard?
« on: August 26, 2010, 05:41:17 AM »
Tell me it wouldn't be cool to have this sitting in your front yard.......even if it is fake. Yup, this barrel is made of fiberglass but would it be awesome sitting there in your front yard aiming a a neighbor you don't like!! I don't know if they are still around but this company made fiberglass barrels for display purposes. I asked them about making me a 13 inch mortar and they wanted about $1000 so I opted for my propane tank which cost $50.

I would need a bigger yard, first.

I'm in for a 10-inch Rodman in either the front or backyard; not only would that be a great thing in and of itself, but it would also cut down on lawn mowing time.

After reading this thread I actually started to wonder if there are any real 10-inch Columbiads that are privately owned; my guess would be that there aren't, but you never know.

I 'unlazied' myself and checked the Nat. Registry, and there aren't any listed there, but there is one in the City Park of Arequipa, Peru that probably came from a private sale.

Knoxville TN has a pair of Rodman's on the courthouse lawn.  They are replacements for the real guns that were donated in a WW scrap drive unfortunately. The real ones never got past the local scrapper and played no role in the war effort.  Many people had a cow over the city's purchase of these replicas at the time but now the sentiment seems to be that they belong.

I think Paulson Brothers have one? I can't remember though if theirs is a 10 or an 8 inch?

The Paulson Bros. have one; there are two 8-inch Rodman's listed as privately owned on the National Registry.
