Bullseye Firearms
« on: August 26, 2010, 02:56:12 PM »
I feel like a traitor even writing this, but I did talk my brother into driving over to Bee’s from Rochester too buy a new Rifle for Bear Season today. But has anyone gone down too Bullseye firearms in New Alexandria, I picked up one of his fliers at the Monroeville gun show, They are suppose to have a large collection of Antique & collectible Guns. There was a piece in the Murrysville Paper about this place, they just opened last week, I may take a ride down Saturday and check it out. The paper said they sell reloading supplies as well.

;)Hornady, I have stopped in at Bullseye many times ....they have a fair amout of reloading stuff, and a nice selection of used firearms...I have never bought anything from them, but did ask about a model 37 Ithaca R...the price was fair, and they were willing to deal..if it is there when I return this fall, I will pick it up...I am not sure what you are looking for, but they did have quite a selection...I have never been to Bee's so cannot compare...as far as numbers of guns and loading equipment, they cannot compare to Grice's in Clearfield, but that is another 70 miles north...if you get that far, there is a fine used gun shop on Flegal Rd. going toward Pennfield...

Bee’s is a small gun shop just out side of Saltsburg, not a lot of guns or components on sight, but with his low over head great prices on new guns, He orders most of his guns from Grice, but his prices are actually cheaper than Grice, But then Grice dose have more over head than Bee. If in the area and looking for a great deal on a gun. Bee is worth your time, Great guys and better prices.
I have been out to Grice a few times; they do have some decent sales if you catch them, and a good selection. Next time you are out to Grice check out the  Car Museum. Good place to kill an hour.

Where is Bullseye firearms exactly located? I don't think I have ever know of it being in New Alex. Of coarse when you frequent one or two gun shops, you don't pay much attention to the others.

I took a drive down to New Alexandria to Bullseye, he has some nice firearms, But I can not say the same about his prices, My brother ordered a Marlin XL7C 3006 at Bee’s Price $339.00, Bullseye  price $369.00. The Nikon prostaff 3x9x40 scopes Bee sells for $139.00 , Bullseye wanted $169.00. I was looking at some beat up used Glock 22 10 round Mag,s  Bullseye price $25.00 each , I bought two new glock factory  14 round Mag,s at the Gun show, $22.00 each. I checked on a can of Varget, Bullseye price $23.99, I stopped into Bee’s on the way home same can of Varget, I paid $20.99. So Bee has nothing to worry about as far as competition from Bullseye. To be fare Bullseye is cheaper than the two clowns in Delmont, and I did see a couple used rifles and handguns that had good prices on them, But that will be my last trip to New Alexandria, looking for new guns or reloading components.

Hornady Not long ago I got a price on a handgun from one of the clowns in Delmont that you mentioned. The price he gave me was $100 more than what Kenny wanted. This was no $1000 handgun either. I paid $439 for it at Bee's. I had thought about checking Bullseye out, but from what you saw there, I don't think there is no need for me to go.

If you want to look at some very nice old firearms its worth the trip, not a huge quantity but some nice ones, and like I said if looking for a used gun, he may not be bad, The used guns I looked at, some had fare prices, but then I did not look them over real well, may have been junk.
The guys in Delmont, I don’t even go in those shops anymore, Last time I looked at used guns in either one in Delmont, like you said, you can buy new at Bee’s for what they want for used.
If you remember the gun shop that was in Murrysville, By the Giant Eagle, Now that guy had some high-end guns. Too high end for the Area but I spent a lot of time in there, some of those old English and German Guns were works of art.
I think the New Alexandria shop is going for that, but he just dose not have the High end inventory.

I have been to that gun shop (the one on 66) a few times and their used guns are way high in price. I even told them the last time I was there that for $20.00 more I could buy it new. The lady behind the counter just kind of gawked at me after I said that. Dale

The one in the shopping center across from Wal- marts on 22 is not any better, before I got feed up with them I compared prices, between both shops, it seems both have the same policy, sell for Manufacturers suggested retail, high Blue book on used, or don’t sell at all. The lady in the one on 66 is the owners wife, both him and her seem to be nice people to talk too, as far as that goes the guy on 22 is a nice enough guy, they just don’t seem to want too move guns, they have to know they are loosing a lot of sales to more reasonably priced shops.
Even Powel in Penn-hills beat their prices, across the board. I would bet his overhead is every bit as high as there’s.
I have no proof of it but, I think the two in Delmont were involved in the primer gouging on Gun Broker, I saw some suspicious looking listings on GB from the Delmont Area at the height of that madness, I know un-like Bee who Rationed primer when he could get them, Bee kept his price at his normal price. Those too jumped there price up 50 % of what they were charging.
Its there business, but I will drive the extra few miles, knowing I will be treated right every time.

The people that own the sport shop on Rt.66 are very nice people, and I would love to give him my business buying used guns, because he does have a good collection of used firearms, but geezz, his prices for used guns as you said are not much cheaper than new. I really don't know how he sells them. He is the one that quoted me a price on a gun for $539 that I got from Kenny for $439. Yes it was the exact same gun. He must not really care if he sells many guns, and he has to know what Bee's sells them for, because they are not very far from each other.

You may be right about the primers. I didn't even look at the two shops in Delmont for primers, because I had heard they raised their primer prices way up when they were scarce.  I know Bee's could have jacked their price up on primers, but didn't. He just kept guys from hoarding by limiting what they could buy. I figure that is the fairest way he could have done it, and just one more reason he will continue to get my business.
