Where's my Teddy?
« on: August 26, 2010, 03:55:32 PM »
You really want to know whats wrong with America?
According to ABC news.........1 in 4 American males, travel with their stuffed pet!!!!!!!!!
What has happened to the American Male??  "CAN WE SAY" FEMINIZED?

What's next?............More men watch Oprah than the NFL, I guess.

"WE ARE DOOMED" I guess there are a few of us, like here on GB left, but overall the castration of the American male is complete.

I feel a tear welling up, so I'll just take my Teddy and take a nap. ::)

nw, have you watched Fox New on the weekends? Allyson Camerota has more testosterone than her two wienie co hosts. Not to denigrate the folks that died on 9/11, but do you realize that "nineteen desert rats took over 3 planes with box cutters with one inch blades" and killed 3,000 people, while the men on board the planes watched in horror and then died? The folks on the Pennsylvania crash finally hooked up, but it was too late, they had let it go too far.
I see these boys in their late teens, early twenties, with purple hair, and enough piercings to set off a metal detector riding their skate boards down the street, and posting their video game scores on youtube, and facebook.

1 in 4 !?!?!? Not hard to believe at all really. I only hope they don't breed. "Timmy has a mommy and a metrosexual" It absolutely disgusts me to think of where this once great nation is heading. More people are worried about whos gonna win some ignorant cheesy a$$ dance/talent show, or which sports collective full of overpaid guys who can't bear the thought of high school fame leaving them behind, is going to win, or which tragedy will be overplayed on the news(?). Instead of real issues that affect the nation they live in, like who in gooberment is introducing the tyrannical and oppressive bill of the session. And roll over for it all without even writing their elected. Lady Liberty is being strangled in a dark alley and people are ignoring her screams. Good luck America.

YUP! Even in a small rural, logging community like mine, we see the skate boarders with the purple hair and hardware. Just think! These things were once some Mother's child.

Yeah, but if you asked our parents I bet that they would tell you that some of the things we wore and did at that age were pretty outrageous to their perspective.  Long hair, Jeans with holes in the knees, flannel shirts or tie died T-shirts, sometimes wore a bdu jacket complete with military patches and lapel pins.  Rode noisy smokey two stroke dirt bikes.  I'm sure most I probably horrified my folks at times.

Have no idea what this stuffed animal thing is all about.  ???   I prefer to carry a gun when I travel myself.  ;D

Yea, but we quit those things by the time we were 40 ;D
We didn't punch holes in our ears and other body parts either.

Now the kids parents have the holes and hardware, and carry their teddy on trips.

I agree with Dee . We had a guy call his girlfriend to see if he could quit because the work was to hard . And whats with the jeans so tight you could tell if a dime was heads or tails side out ? I can't imagine the discomfort involved with a man wearing these , guess that's why they have a high voice. And the ones with lipstick and nail polish , gothic my butt.

Stuffed animals in the vehicle with a guy ?????? That's sad. When my truck rolls it's got spare clothes, a couple of MRE's and at least two pistols with extra ammo. More stuff than that if I'm going on a long trip.

I agree that the de-masculisation/feminisation of the US male is troublesome. Maybe we can save a few. Here's a start:

BOY, aint  that the truth. I have a cousin up in N ILL. At our family reunion a few years ago he was telling me that he went to the barn to feed and saw a guy trying to hide so he ignored him, yes, it's in the country. I said, Dang it Bill that guy was up to no good, did you get a gun and go after him??? He replied, oh Heavens no, I didn't want a confrontation and make him mad. Then his wife spoke up and said, I guarantee you that you'll NEVER find a gun in MY house. I said then just post a sign like that in your front yard, I promise you'll have plenty of company. He was a school teacher in Spfld Ill. Then they wonder why I skip the reunions anymore. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:(

Things just ain't what they used to be. Kids don't have to work anymore and they grow up to be pansies. Farmers and ranchers have a hard time finding anyone to do summer work. I used to go help out with the haying and stuff just to get permission to hunt and fish on the property. Most of the time they would pay me an hourly wage to-boot. There is definitely a shortage of real men in America. Most of them are in the military. Too much political correctness too.

Beerbelly, that could be a good thing sometimes. If it was left up to just the man in the house when to buy another gun, I figure many households would be broke.

Saddlebum, pansies is a good term for some of the men in America today. You are correct about farmers having a hard time finding good reliable people to put in a day of physical work. Its just to hard on little Johnny.
Heavy Construction companies also are having a harder time of finding good workers. Its the reason the labor rate for a general labor continues to raise. Its hard work and there just isn't many willing to do it anymore. Just to many cake eaters that want a job sitting behind a desk and having lunch at the local cafe, or Chinese resturant. We are running out of tough guys.

Take a Teddy with them on a trip. "Come on Man" That is down right embarrassing!

No Brett, I wore boots and jeans, drove a pickup, rode horses and bulls, and chased women. Hunted and fished constantly, never tried drugs, never disrespected my parents or women, and still don't, nor will I allow anyone else to, whether I know the woman or girl, or not. I still wear boots and jeans, still drive a pickup, will still get on a horse now and then (if he's calm"", still hunt and fish, don't disrespect my mother (dad died), and still don't disrespect women or young girls, and cheat if others try. I did however give up on chasin women, opting for a wife, and bulls are to be cooked and eatin, preferably at an early age. I've never dyed my hair, nor will I, never even considered a piercing, or a tattoo, but do have some scars aquired along the way.
Now I will admit to drinkin a little beer in my youth, and I was known to hit a honky tonk or two in my youth, as it was the best place to find good two-step music. I grew out of in in my early twenties learned there are certain things in life you just don't do.
I do have a few items I take when I travel however. I usually take a 357 magnum, and usually a Model 92 lever action of the same caliber. Sometimes if I'm feeling a little insecure, I'll take the M4 instead. ;)

Dee:  Sounds like you and I had a lot in common growing up and in our younger days.  I never rode Bulls, but did let myself get caught by a few Cougers in my younger days.  Don't ride horses anymore, bad back.

When I travel I carry a 9MM and an 06.

Once while I was still on active duty, the wife slipped a White Teddy Bear into my B-Bag (Bag for personel gear).  When we went out into the field, and I was opening my bag to get something, there was that White Teddy Bear right on top.  Just happened a dozen fellow Senior NCOs were sitting around watching.  I ended up retiring before I lived that one down.  She still thinks about it and has a good laugh, 20 yeaars later.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
