Oil - We'll Never Run Out
US Has More Than All The World
Known Reserves Combined
8-19-10

Here's an interesting read, important and verifiable information :

About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does the U.S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more than all the Middle East put together." Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and extreme eastern Montana ...... check THIS out:

http://bakkenshale.net/bakkenshalemap.html

and light sweet crude here:

http://www.bakkenshale.net/threeforkssanish.html

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe Bay, and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5..3 trillion.

"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.." says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst.

"This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and into Canada ... For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from 2006!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World

Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq

- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention yet? Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:

Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices - by doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.

--------

Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you sent this to every one in your address book.

By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!

GOOGLE it, or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

Sure as heck wouldn't matter one way or the other.  The leftists and tree huggers will try to block, most likely successfully, every effort to extract it anyway.

Well, if this is true, it sure pokes a hole in the beliefs of those guys who think there is no difference between Republicans and democrats.  Who do you think would be for drilling?  Don't think too hard.

I work for a natural gas company.  This is no joke.  Most of the oil is on FEDERAL land.  National forests, National grasslands, etc.  SO, the environmentalists DO have it locked up all because of some snail darter or spotted owl.  Eisenhower started OPEC, so that we would buy their oil up first, and he locked ours away for the future when everyone else would run out.  He remembered how much oil was needed in WWII.  Also, there is enough natural gas in Anwar to supply the entire US with natural gas for 47 years.  There is also enough in the Bermuda Triangle to last for 30,000 years.  Problem is it is very deep and costs twice as much right now, but it is there.  Also, the shale oil in the Dakotas cost more to extract, but it can be done.  Anwar would be easier, but a natural gas pipeline must be ran about 800 miles to tie into Canada's for the lower 48.

We have enough oil (including undiscoverd oil) to meet US needs about 28 years at current consumation rates.  By 2125 we will need something else to use because world supplies will be depleted.  Just the facts.

That is nonsensical.  How can anyone determine how long "undiscovered" reserves will last.   ::)

You'd have to ask them.  We discover about 2% of our current needs a year.  In the end oil will get so expensive we will always have a little.

Cool, lets use the other guys oil first and then sell ours for 10 times the price. I have a buddy who has some awesome grade gravel and is leaving it sit and buying his aggregate for his buisiness from other sources. He knows he is sitting on a gold mine.

Yep, Its called strategic reserve. I am of the belief that the old globe is still producing oil and that the wells will never truly go dry. Might be we pump it faster than it can produced, or that its location may be cost prohibitive, for now, but I doubt we will ever "run out".

Guys, I've talked to the field geoligist, the guys doing the exploritory work in ANWR, and the NPR.  These guys tell me we have enough oil in ANWR, and NPR to run this country for over 100 years.  Also that oil can be flowing down the pipeline in three years once the order to drill is given.

Yet environmental leaning members of congress keep saying it will take 10 years to get that oil to market, and that there is not that much of it left.  Great disinformation.

Did anyone see Greta's show "On The Record" last week?  She interviewed Sarah Palin, and went to ANWR.  Then Greta interviewed a Good Friend of mine, Hugh (Bud) Faith.  Bud is an oil man.  He knows what is underground all over this state.  Bud tells of hitting "Light Sweet Oil" that was suitiable to run their diesel equipment just as it came out of the ground.  They used that oil all that winter, then was told to cap the well and leave.  That well is still there and only needs to be uncapped.  It's just that it is on Federal Land and the Feds refuse to allow it to be extracted.  Unfortunately the Feds own 74% of Alaska and have control over where we can drill for oil.

As for Natural Gas we have large deposits on the North Slope, that's why we are trying to get a pipeline run from the North Slope to Valdez.  Going through Canada is no good.  The Canadians want to well us their gas.  The Canadian Oil Minister has said they want us to give them all the petrochemicals out of Alaska's gas, which is a valuable resource, or they will shut the valve going to the lower 48.

If I'm not mistaken Obama's first executive order banned development on most federal lands out west.
We also have the largest coal supply on earth. I know there are huge reserves off the coast of Florida. And there is a place offshore Alaska called Gull Island that is rumored to have more oil than the biggest Saudi Field. The Saudis are pumping water into their fields trying to keep their production up but they are running out now. We also have Uranium that could fuel nuclear plants. And still we import most of our energy.
We are blocked from using our own resources by the government that is supposed to be for our best interests. It's insane and we need to vote out most of what we have in Washington.

If you want to believe what the liberals say about us running out of oil, you can.  BUT, we are only running out of the existing oil from existing wells.  They only want everyone to drive an electric car.  Problem is the technology isn't there.  We can develop the existing shale oil onshore, develop Alaska's oil, drill offshore right now.  We can make synthetic oil from our coal.  We can run natural gas in our vehicles, especially fleets, right now.  We can be completely energy independent within 10 years with good paying AMERICAN jobs here.  We can also make oil from algae.  NOTHING is being developed at this time because of; 1) Government regulations, 2) Environmental wacko's, 3) Current Administrations dismanteling of our Capitalist Economy, 4) Liberals push for electric cars and high speed trains, 4) High taxes on corporations, 5) No seed money for start up companies like algae production.  The Tarp money the banks got is being invested overseas, because no one wants to invest in Socialist American these days.  We are destroying ourselves.

Heck, I remember when Jimma Carter told us we'd be out of oil by 1975.  If the Dumbycrats and the environazis had had their way, I have no doubt that would have been the case.  All good Dumbycrats and tree huggers should walk the walk and refuse to use oil in any form.

Dixie Dude:  We can be totally energy independent in five years from the date permission is given to drill.  We can have oil running through the Alaska Pipe Line in three, from new wells.  The problem will be keeping the EPA from shutting down all the refineries.  They (The EPA) have rejected renewal of 12 refineries in Texas this summer alone.  We can have all the oil in the world, but if we cannot refine it what good does it do us.

Coal does take some extra care to use, but it can be used with approperiate equipment to clean it up to where it is less polluting than oil.  We have more coal than we would use in 300 years I am told.  Plus all the derivitives that we can get from coal.  Alaska is selling the bulk of the production from the Usabelli Coal Mine, to South Korea, and other Pacific Rim countries.

Natural Gas is out there, and we should be using more of it.  That is why this election in Alaska is so important to the State and to the Country.  We have been sitting on all this Natural Gas for over 30 years, it's time to get it to market so we and others can benifit.

Ripping the tops of mountains and filling every stream around them with rubble.  That's coal.  Nothing destroys more but a bomb.

Swampy:  Yes Usabelli is digging up a mountain, almost the entire mountain is coal.  But I guarentee you they are not, I repeat NOT, polluting any stream, or dumping any rubble onto any stream.  The State Of Alaska will not tollerate it.  The one area they have already mined and finished work in that area has been through a reclaimation process.  That area is now beautiful Alpine meadows, looking like the surrounding area.  The only thing lacking is the Willows and Alders, they have not had time to grow back yet.  But give them another ten years and they will be back as well.  The Birds, Caribou, and all the other animals have returned, except the Moose.  Moose pass through, but won't stay in the area till the Willows and Alders come back.

The EPA is far more active here in Alaka than in the lower 48.  They are trying to stymie mining of any type up here.  They put rediculious restrictions on all mining operations.  Let me tell you about one of the mining processes and how it has worked.  Ft Knox Gold Mine, wanted to operate in the Cleary Summit area.  They needed water from a small stream to use in their milling and refining process.  EPA placed such stringent restrictions on their out flow, that the natural water being taken in was dirtier and more polluted than the water they were allowed to release.  We have a fish up here called the Artic Grayling.  Now the Grayling is a very sensative fish, and the least amount of pollutants will kill the Grayling.  Grayling had never been in the small stream FT Knox was going to use, due to naturally occuring amounts of Arsonic and Heavy Metals in the water.  The mine has now been in operation for over 25 years, and Grayling has moved into the stream, right up to the outfall pipe that discharges the waste water.  In other words their waste water is cleaner than the incoming natural water.

So if done responsiably Coal can be mined in a manner not to pollute and ruine an area.  Yes coal mines did a lot of damage down in the lower 48, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and other states.  But there is no reason it has to be that way.  It can be done responsiably, with out the damage done in the past.

In the US 240 trout streams have been eliminated from the face of the earth for tiny veins of coal.  I've seen what they do and it's worse than criminal.  It never comes back because it can't.  There's no soil just rubble.

Then that would make him right in this instance.  I don't mind burning coal it's the total destruction of the area where it's mined that's a problem.

According to snopes, this originates in a get rich quick pitch. I gotta ask, if it is a sure thing, why cold call people to invest in it? Disclaimer, i have worked in boiler rooms, and man, is that a nasty business.

We have an 800 year supply of coal.  We have a 200 year strategic reserve in western shale formations on US government property.  Swampy, until they make a battery that can recharge in 15 minutes, and go 300-400 miles on a charge, electric isn't going to make a dent.  Hybrids already cost much more than a regular vehicle.  They only improve mileage about 1/3 over gasoline.  Diesel improves mileage by about 20% without hybrid and usually at a lower cost.  When will the hybrid batteries go out?  How do you dispose of them?  How much will they cost to replace?  Electric cars will not be completely ready for another 20-50 years.  We need to start doing something right now like:

1) Drilling where ever we can.
2) Make more diesel vehicles like Germany.  27 gallons of diesel from a 55 gallon barrel of crude vs 20 gallons of gasoline.  CUTS 25-30% OF IMPORTED OIL.
3) We do need more nuclear power plants (Takes 20 years to get one from scratch), as well as windmills in the plains states.
4) Since we do have so much coal, we can make synthetic gasoline and diesel from coal.
5) Have fleets run natural gas, CUTS 40% OF IMPORTED OIL.
6) Impose tarriffs on imported oil.  Use money to subsidise synthetic gasoline and diesel from coal, and encourage algae oil production to cut the remaining 30-35% of imports.

The only thing I have read about electric is high voltage recharging.  One car company is experimenting with this.  120 volts recharges in 8 hours, 240 volts recharge in about 5 hours, 440 volts recharge in 3 hours,  660 volts in about 1-1/2 hours.  Still too long, with the longest range electric car being about 150-200 miles and it cost $90,000, and takes 8 hours to recharge.  These cars are also small, what about families with kids needing a van or suv?  What about us hunters and workers needing trucks?  Not realistic in the next 20-50 years.  The above things we can do NOW in the transition.  This is what no liberals and greenies are thinking.  They are idealistic not realistic.  If I want to hop in my car or truck and drive to Alaska, I can and get gasoline or diesel along the way.  Infrastructure is not in place.  Won't be for a long time.  You can quick fill natural gas If the gasoline stations install the compressors. It only takes about 15 minutes.  Right now it is the only viable alternative to gasoline and diesel and can be in place in 5 years along with the other changes I recommend.  Half our trade deficit is in oil.  It can be stopped.  The other is with China and that is because they are holding their prices down and not allowing them to rise.  If they allowed their Yen to rise, our deficit with them would begin to disappear, and more jobs would return home, so put tarriffs on their goods, until they allow their money to float like ours.  Easy fixes, but noone wants to to it.

Another problem with electric cars, is we would have to increase electric production by at least 20% to begin with just to handle the recharging.

Cars cost more than horses. When was the last time you rode a horse to work? The Euros, who tax the hell out of gas, end up driving  1 liter 5 passenger diesels and motorcycles every day, and still manage to craft (and sell) the sexiest, fastest cars on the planet for the high rollers.

If I had a plug-in Prius I wouldn't need any gasoline.  If the electricity was nuclear generated, we wouldn't have to wipe West Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina off the map to have all the power we need.

If we're going to wipe some place out, let it be Washington D.C. and preferably when Congress is in session and Osama isn't gone on another vacation.  Then maybe free enterprise would provide what real people want and not what a bunch of commies, greenies and nazis think we need.
